Pls dun insert the new UM simcard till your existing simcard shows "Simcard Registration Failed" If you follow the forum's thread many users porting got delayed because they put in the simcard before their existing simcard got deactivated.
Again, Please take note, do not put in the UM simcard into your phone till your existing simcard "failed" [color=red] although advice by the system that it will be activated in 60mins.
Trust me. Dun believe the system.
Most of the time it is delayed, sometimes till 24hours ~48hours.
Sometimes you have to call up 018-3881318 to enquire why it takes so long to get activated

i can vouch for his services.
i got into a mess with my MNP from Celcom Exec 50. shi**y celcom brought all kinds of shi**y problem to keep me inside their hands. luckily my MNP was done through him and he proceeded and kept asking for feedback on the status of the MNP.

if i were to do it manually at a umobile branch i'm sure i have to go there multiple times to sort things out. through him, i could stay at home and WAIT till the MNP is done. great feature indeed!

now running on prepaid, my monthly cost is LESS THAN HALF of what i used to spend with celcom. hard to believe prepaid costs less than postpaid.
but it's true. about his great service. and about celcom giving their postpaid users shi**y deal.

i hope you like the experience of using UM, infact you can get signal even if you are in an underground carpark B2/B3 as your fon will auto roam on Celcom's 2G/Umobile 2G if u select roaming to Auto on your fon.

previously my DiGi's signal just went dead and my wife cannot reach me when i am down in carpark B3

after port to u mobile can receive Maybank TAC?

there were some instances tat users hav problems receiving TAC, however i would advice this.

1) de-register your number ( the MNP wannabe number ) at a MBB atm and temporary register it to another of your number, if u used a second number. Then you re register it again after the number is successfully ported.

2) go ahead with the MNP and if u face problem, call up MBB abt this and they should be able to help u to resolve it.

however, i would favour the first option.

i can confirm this as well. as i've been using celcom for the past 5 or 6 years. there's no call quality degradation when roaming on celcom line. in fact, i'm roaming on celcom most of the time as we don't have umobile 3g up here in kedah.

some said they cannot get TAC number anymore after porting. some even said maybank customer service told them to get another number instead because the old number cannot be used anymore after porting.

luckily my TAC still arrives promptly even after porting. for both maybank2u and cimb clicks.
if a customer service (any bank) dare to advice me to get another number for TAC because problem caused by MNP i'm sure he's (or she) gonna get an earful from me.

no problem here. and no problem with my other ported line which my wife is using (also for both maybank2u and cimbclicks).

digilife : currently i have uox (celcom prepaid) but the owner name is not me, i bought it from the first day, can i MNP to UM and change the ownership to my name?

No, ownership transfer hav to be done before u MNP as the MNP need your ic as a document. There were a few MNP rejected because the ic submitted does not match with the registered sim holder.

you can just MNP while still under supp line, no need to seperate but pls make sure you hav paid up all its outstanding.

however, it would be best if you could make it into an individual ac cause some telco (out-going) might be fussy and delay or reject it altogether, depending on individual case

can i knoe which telco you are currently in?

if lets say some area doesnt have coverage which it will auto switch to either digi or celcom, will the data plan still available to use ? or just voice and sms only ?

Currently UM hav roaming agreement with Celcom 2G network (GSM), meaning you can use Celcom's 2G network to roam, be it Voice or Data.

FYI, UM hav signed a roaming agreement with Maxis recently, how will they share the roaming network is not disclosed yet.

Its location dependent, usually between 120 to 200 kbps, for a smart fon there is not much lag but for PC its quite laggy

The best and easiest way is to MNP the Main and all the Supp lines altogether, you can choose between the U28 and U58 depending on your needs.

I hav read your PM and would like to answer here for the benefits of our forum members.

Those case that hav been submitted directly to Service Centers hav to wait for the respective Service Center to process as i am not in the authority to touch them. Please understand that i would not like to "disturb" their task.

I would advice you to pay a visit to the SC to ask them to speed things up.

FYI, i still hav about 10 MNP's in queue to be activated for last week's MNP alone . Maybe those UM's officials are busy , really busy.

Yes, you can MNP a prepaid/postpaid into UM's Postpaid, no problem about that, just that we dealers hav more paper work to do like preparing Report and Checklist and stuff like that

You should receive a sms from UM abt your intention to MNP into UM. This is an official welcome message. However if due to some reasons that your MNP is unsuccessful, UM will also send you a msg why the MNP failed.

If you do not receive any msg fr UM with the next few days, pls PM again and i will do a fresh porting for you ( if you do not want to go to a UM Service Center to enquire) but pls be patience and wait for a few more days. Do you knoe who is the person's name or Service Center location handling your porting?

for phone bundle, i would advice you to go to a Service Center to do it as i dun have any Phone allocated to me

however, i can do MNP into UM postpaid without contract tied

How long does it takes after receiving sms from UM to be ported to UM?

the flow chart looks like this

your submission > my submission to UM = 1 day ( you would hav received your new UM sim on the 2nd or 3rd day)

UM process your MNP = 3~5 days ( you will receive sms fr UM abt your intention to MNP)

approval by "out-going" telco = 1~2 days

total = 5~7 working days (current status)

fyi UM still hav abt 450~500 MNP to key-in pending , all thanks to the recent PC Fair

rumours is that telco might charge a fee of rm25~rm30 for doing MNP come 2012

Yes, provided its under your name and that you have paid up all its outstanding, including the Principal line too as DiGi wont let your Supp. lines "go just like that"

Auto billing date is when, you should knoe rite,

To be on the safe side, if auto billing is on the 10th, i will submit on the 10th and by the 13th, it should hav been paid and the Porting could have been in progress, so its considered that your account is paid and up to date.

autobilling is on 12 Dec 2011. And i've check through *128#, my account and bill info. my outstanding is RM0.00. Means already payment made. So what is the procedure needed now?

Roaming on UM2G or Celcom GPRS/Edge is quite a pain sincerely, but if it comes as a Bonus (FOC) who cares. Its free although its slow, Right?

I believe UM can roam on Maxis 3G (not HSPA) on its UMTS-900 in Northern Malaysia very soon

Ya, but ,we hv2 resort to the Celcom's "free" 2G because the 3G which is supposed to be offered with the package is not available in the areas at the moment.
Anyway, I believe it's still a good deal for low data users.
Hopefully it comes to the northern region vy soon. U mobile would be a very berpotensi player on the field if it can combine the coverage of Maxis & Celcom & offer it at low rates.

Oh yes, i hav MNP a few Northern Malaysian numbers and they are using their former Maxis and Celcom numbers like Celcom. You knoe Celcom's coverage there right?

The line quality is superb and the call rates is much cheaper too,

You dun need to buy another simpack as you can use back your current mobile number on the new simcard that i will send to you.
You only need to send me the required documents and transfer me the required topup+simcard+pos ekspress postage.

What i meant by 7 days is that the whole porting process will takes abt 7 days to be completed ( provided your details in the documents dun hav any mistake)

During the duration of these 7 days( or so), you will still be able to use your current simcard just like normal. Its seamless, meaning you wont lose the use of your number at all, only a few mins when you do the changing of the simcard from DiGi to Umobile. Just that.

Shah Alam should be okay but in Alor Setar, i believe you have to make do with GPRS/Edge as UM3G is not there but later by Q3, i believe the tieup with Maxis would have been in use already.

hehe welcome to the club. i had to wait for nearly 2 weeks because celcom refused to approve my porting. if i remember correctly digilife had to submit my porting application 3 times before it got through. so i reckon 4 days is still very short.

Hi bro, Im currently using DiGi SmartPlan 68 and I have a supp line using DiGi postpaid DG30. I want both line switch to umobile prepaid how to do?

same thing happened to me. i got the text msg saying that the porting is sucessful & the new simcard willb eactivated within the hour. & i waited patiently for 3 days until igave up & called their customer service. Suprisingly they really pick up their phone lines quite fast now within 5 min. & my problem got sorted out.
i didn't wait for my previous line to get deactivated , i just swap to the new simcard after getting confirmation from UM that my MNP is sucessful.

Port the main and supp lines together, make them both Umobile prepaid.

Currently under Celcom 1+5 package with 2 supp lines. Can I just port both the supp lines to UM and maintain the main line under Celcom?

Maxis wont allow its Supp lines to be ported into UM while the main line stays............

I remembered Celcom also pratice this, ie, all must go, Main and Supp

but in Maxis, we can convert the 2 Supp lines into Hotlink Prepaid and the 2 Hotlink prepaid can be ported into any Telco which you fancy

Why dun you port all the 3 lines into UM, there are Supp lines package too and its coverage is as good as Celcom, if not better in some areas

I've been trying out on UM's coverage 1st before porting to UM.
So far (more than half a month) its performance is ok.
On 1 good day, I got 3G connection which was sooo fast (once or twice).
I'm staying in the center of PJ, consider it as a big city. but the connection has been "unpredictable",about 50% of the time I can't get connected. (wonder y my phone's setting "use packet data" alwy turns off itself when the connection drops)
I get EDGE connection in Alor Setar, & along the highways back to PJ,which is good , so, sometimes, I'd think: how come the connection is better in small town than PJ (not even EDGE connection) . But then, in Alor Setar, when it get disconnected itself, I need to go "settings" to turn off my data & switch it on again to get the Edge connection.
However, just recently, especially the last 2 days, it's improved, mostly HSPDA, quite stable, hopefully it continues

Btw, I'm using androids apps to analyse the coverage & speed, i.e, Sensorly (compare the coverage between different telcos regionally), Open Signal. just sharing

My question is, does the connectivity has anythg to do with my phone's mobile network settings configuration?
I've trying various combination, setting Network operators to 2G, 3G, auto; Network mode from auto to GSM only, to WCDMA; turning on / off data roaming,etc.
some said setting it as Umobile 3G & WCDMA only to get the best of it, is it true?

if you see strong UM3G in your area, use WCDMA Only for best result and when you are in a Weak UM3G area, its best to use Um2G for Voice only, but if you wan Data and Voice, u have to select WCDMA Prefered

ofcourse you can still use it, its seamless, meaning u can use your digi till the minute it is disconnected and the next minute you will be activated into UM, just a few secs of disconnection when you switch over the simcards.......from digi > um

now umobile team is expanding, hoping they might get back their speed on doing mnp like 1-2days , and less procedure like xox or digi mnp

today i go u center at seremban. port from hotlink to u prepaid. cs girl say 3 working days. and free of charge and free two u mobile pen. just go there and let her photostate my ic. and give me pen and card. finish in 5 minit.

dunno 3 working days will swtch or not

Fri(13-01-2012) + 3 working days = Mon + Tue + Wed = Thu (19-01-2012)

lets hope its true , 3 working days porting again

actually if you track back, you managed to received the simcard on the next day after you bank in rite?, so actually its no fault of mine that drag your porting , its UM that is "slow" even the "donor" telco is quick to release the line

i ask COMFIRM. staff at the center say SURE COMFIRM (this dialog i have use the HP to record) *for use in future
if thursday not yet port see what will i do .
