Sold again around 8kgs. Look like these days the average selling price is rm1200-rm1300 for lump sum.

Super A grade rm1900, A rm1500, the rest rm1000(triangle and banci). If can, keep the rm1000 for yourself and perhaps can sell higher to your friends.

This is current quotation in sarawak.

This Christmas, Santa Clause did not drop what we want down the chimney...
Chinese approval for allowing export of nests into China...

Maybe next Christmas?
*
Quite depressing indeed. No choice but have to wait. News say might be after spring festival only then can export. A buyer told me most of the processed nests still stuck at hong kong though.

Since we cannot do anything about it, so we should share how to increase productions. My nests are not pure white. I wonder how a BH can produce so white bird nest? Or they throw away the eggs?

The China Press reported that farmers received smses from buyers that if their BHs are equipped with RFID, the buyer will pay higher price of RM2100 for their BN, whereas BHs without RFID, will get lower price below RM1k.

Who is the supplier of RFID for BH ??
*
Mind to share the link to the news? So far i havent really receive such sms tho.

Sifu WW I need your advise regarding my BN. Recently when I sold some BN to a dealer he said my BN has 'lumut'. Then he chop my BN price 99.

I know the meaning of lumut in Malay is mold, basically he said the problem is there are tiny black dots along the part on BN where the nest sticks to the wooden planks.

But I asked around some ppl say not mold but because of fleas in the BH. So my question is, what is this lumut and how do I eradicate it?
*
That is kutu. Use pesticide called Fendona SC. Yellow bottle. Works nicely since previously we have this problem as well.

I've been using Fendona since a year ago, every 2 weeks I spray. So if that's what you're saying shouldn't have this problem ma.

Wah weird. Do you sample of your nests? Need pictures to see eh.

Look like the raw prices are very hard to recover. Almost every week the price drop. Now mostly average RM1100-RM1200.

Can export? unsure.gif

Some fun calculation i made today.
China has 1.1 billion people. Let's say 1 person eat 1 piece a year(i assume they only eat during chinese new year!). That translate to 1 billion pieces.(i ignore another 100 millions)

1 000 000 000 pieces/ 150 pieces per kg = 6,666,666 kgs @ 6666 tonnes.
According to this report, world production in 2010 is 1450 tonnes and 70% produced by indonesia. Assume now world production is 2000 tonnes. It is still far from 6666 tonnes. biggrin.gif
Now we slash the population to half which is 500 million people. We still need 3333 tonnes of clean bird nest. The actual production need to include 20% wastage to provide a cleaned nest figure instead of raw.

This figure only include China consumers. icon_rolleyes.gif. One family (10 members) buy 5 pieces of bird nest for chinese new year reunion. It will need 3000 tonnes? biggrin.gif

QUOTE(West Wing @ May 17 2013, 10:40 PM)
Realy need not to calculate as we all know the reason why our nests have undervalue. this is all due to the fact that we cannot export and that the consumers in China still pay highly for EBN,

If the consumer price drop at thwe same ratio, then we do not complain but the price remain and the ordinary people in China cannot afford to take EBN. WWith thew present situation, there is no way that the price can be increase as our nests still cannot be taken out of the country,..and all they are taking are processed nests and our plants can only produce less than 10% of EBN produced and the rest must be smuggled out of the country and into China....otherwise, where are all the balance of 90% go.

I hope that the price at China drops so that more ordinary Chinese can afford to eat EBN and if the demand increase, there is no way for the middle men to manipulate the price as we shall have more China buyers coming to satisfy the hunger of the chinese people.
*
It is very difficult to satisfy the China people greed. They want to own everything and take all the profits. The crazy thing is, they actually can do it with their state-run company monopoly the trade. Up until now i dont know who is the person to determine the price for the raw. Hong Kong middleman or China boss. But definitely it is not the normal traders around here. Because thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia all sold for almost the same price.

In my opinion, this has nothing to do with Malaysian politician. Those BN crooks might want a piece of pie, but with current low price, it takes some consideration to interfere in this industry. But when price rise, i think they surely implement whatever it takes to squeeze from us. But i rather get taxed rather than current low price.

hi sorry i m not really getting your point. Anyway i m in no intention to provoke you or offend you in any manner. I m not very familiar with birdnest myself, i only know a little of it.

I just happened to stopby at this thread and i had a Bh which i setup 1.5 years ago which i want to sell. I would just want back rm 40k for it - the setup and the premise itself. Just trying my luck see if any one would pick it up from me.

How many nests already in your current BH?

I heard someone saying that nowadays even if you want to sell your raw BN, you need to give a registration number of the BH that it comes from.

Is this true??

No leh. Still like usual. Where do you get your news from?

A person that owns lot of BH. He says that big BN factory in Puchong will buy raw EBN paying up to $1800 to $2000, but the EBN you need to provide the registration number of the BH it comes from.

First time I heard something like this too.
*
Wow this is new thing. Any chance that the factory is one of the 9 companies approved by the china? Back then everyone protest RFID. But think again, it has some uses as well.

QUOTE(West Wing @ Jul 13 2013, 11:57 PM)
I shall no longer provide buyer contacts as there were buyers now bypass me for  reason maybe known to many.
As only few buyers that offer better prices sooner or latter,
they will also follow others and quote lower price as many BH owners are ready to sell on buyer's price.........
sad sad tales.

Selfish you may call me but I need to keep what I still have without someone undersell at lower price to him and affecting my next transaction. Maaf lah.

A friend just return from China and told me that in a famous outlet the price for EBN is from 10K to 60K Rmb....
and most of the buyers here are only offering Rm1700 for the super A white........and most buyers don't even want to buy dirty EBN which I am glad to be able to sell all big dirty brownish EBN at Rm1350 half cup and Rm950 corner last week.

So, if anyone has relative in China wanting to venture into the buz can try but difficulties are that the market are mostly control by TeoChew Clan in GuangDong and don't take kindly to other Clan venturing into their territory. Maybe Kakinan ((Teochew) here may have better luck in China, hahahaha. Another news is that there are many forwarders that will help you to export EBN to any part of China at approximate RM350 or less and will refund you in full if anything happen to your EBN during the transportation....even if there is any shortage according to the horse's mouth.

Hope my information above are all correct.
*
The thing is, those expensive nests have slow sales. There is a place in Guangzhou whereby the price of nest is cheaper and faster sales. Many outlets selling same thing, most indo nests are there.

The price for EBN in my area is basically stagnant. And this month is eggs season so maybe there will be stock shortage. Anyone here pratice throw eggs harvest? We dont throw eggs so every month the Harvest is different. I heard those throw eggs can harvest consistently. 1 nest can harvest 10 times, if no throw, 4 times.
