Dear gerald7,

It is a 5-year old BH. The BH is huge ( at least to me ).  it is a 5-Storey BH.
i would say currently the max of nests will be approx 50 PCS inside the BH sad.gif  .
The design is kinda weird to me though.
The roving area is located in the middle of the BH. There are left and right sections.
The layout i attached previous was the right section, where most of the birds and nests are.
( the left section will be mirror image of the right section)

Grd/1st /2nd floor , left section of 3rd & 4th are temporary "sealed / closed " up.
my intention is to focus on the upper floor right section on 3rd & 4th floor. which i have been working
on little by little since awhile ago.

I wanted to upgrade cuz i realized there are too many issues causing the slow growth of the BH.
there are too many partitions which restrict the birds to fly freely,
and old tweeters are not working and might be positioned wrongly, the cables/ wiring are falling apart
from the tweeters.

There are many birds playing outside the BH. if there are birds playing outside why arent they staying.
that tells me must be something's wrong inside the BH.  sad.gif

5 storey is pretty big. Long term investment XD

Maybe need to get a senior (or a friend in the industry) to have a look and pick their brains on whats the sickness of the BH. Is it internal or external factors.

Im not an expert by any means so I cant really share things I do not know such as tweeter placements. But from my observations on my own BH its closer to your Model B placement.. not as many tweeters tho. Hope that helps.

Salam, semua sya dari philippine I have a question, is it advisable to built a BH near the swiftlet cave for about 100 Meters away from the mouth of the cave? I am a newbie to swiftlet farming planning to engage in it, your advised will be really appreciated and helpful. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, there is no incentive to build a BH near swiftlet cave as those there aren't going to migrate to your BH.
Like human, city people are city people and kampung guys shall always be anak kampung. Although they seem to communicate similar but not the same wavelenght. My opinion only.

Best in swiftlets area or path or where there are many successful birdhouses around to share their babies with you if they breed swiftlets.

I'm using Fendona. It kills insecticide. Concentrated Fendona dilution with water and application through handheld pump sprayer.

Any agriculture insecticide & pesticide shop should carry this product and is odor-less.

Dear all sifus,

I am having hard time collecting fresh bird shit/droppings as not many of people around me are in swiftlet farming.

I would appreciate if anyone of u willing to "give away" or sell some to me so I can put in my BH. There are some aroma out there but I would prefer to try fresh birdshit.
Thanks

Dear all,

recently I started my BH project, after years of planning $. I have piling area 100ft x 30ft and starting to make foundation. I have been told to make BH split into 2, each side have its individual inlet.

will that be better/ higher yield/ faster nesting or will that be a bad idea to split house into 2 and having 2 entrance? innocent.gif

Alex

For big BH like urs, 2-3 entry hole is fine so long able to control brightness.

Do note that this is high risk investment esp BH in agri land. So many millions gone down to drain with small harvest, just look around. Even town BHs which are lower risk closing down 1 after another. Buying over existing BHs will be lower risk as many are selling at huge discount now.

Dont get con by many so call sifus that promise sky and moon. Watch out.
