Yeah, stop feeding that poor joker..

I'm more interested in who's gonna be playing DM this Saturday. Suggestions of Dagger playing that role are not surprising considering how comfortable this guy is with the ball. But is he as good a passer as Lucas? This could be another area KD will address during the January transfer window apart from another centre forward.

Our current available midfielders: Adam, Spearing, Shelvey, Henderson, Gerrard (assuming he is fit later this month), Maxi and Downing (winger). Apart from Spearing and the more versatile Gerrard, these are more of an attacking player. Some of us may think Adam as a defensive player but I thought he was a bit clumsy with his tacklings.

Should we be getting another DM or just go ahead with our current MF? Or should we just get ourselve a goal poacher?

Maybe TS can start a poll on who should we get in January:
1. An attacker
2. A defensive midfielder
3. Stick with what we have now

Mmm firstly, I don't think Lucas is an amazing passer of the ball since he mostly links up play between the defence and our midfield. He doesn't make too many raking passes across the park like Adam does. Also, I think Agger is a decent distributor of the ball. How often have we seen him boot it up the park? The idea isn't for Agger to be a carbon copy of Lucas but as we're short of options, we need someone who at the very least is reliable.

hahahahahah

then i ask u all, how many yrs we didnt win EPL?

how many yrs we didnt qualify for UCL

do we still need to wait?

do you think current set of player will be able to give us glory in short term

most of the answer is no right
then why our club cannot accept this kind of comment
becoz we are still believe that we can do well
unfortunately the reality is ............we will not progress with this set of player
i know development need some time
but we need the right player in the development and not those player that will not able to perform eventually
i want liverpool to do well
i want steven gerrad to lift the EPL trophy and want to sing wnya
but it seems like this will only be a dream that will never come true in my entire life
i am passionate abt this club but the club have let me down

Ok, back to playing your Fantasy Manager. Bye!

No offense to QPR fans but I think we should be fine this weekend at Anfield without a proper DM yes? Shelvey is back from loan and perhaps KD can give him a chance to start this weekend. If a defensive midfielder is needed then my the best pick should be Agger while Carragher can replace him as the CB since he is back to full fitness.

Lucas definitely not a killer pass producing kind of midfielder. But u are spot on with him being a link between the defence and the attack. More than that, he was able to control the tempo of the game; slowing down or breaking down opponents momentum. He likes to keep the ball on the ground and knows where will he be passing to before he got the ball.

I frankly haven't seen Dagger doing too many short passes, but he does like to hold the ball and keep it flowing on the ground. I'm also curious to see how will he fair in the DM role. He does have the ability to score from long distance as well. We have use Skrtell as a wing back before, I don't see why KD shouldn't let Dagger play the holding midfield role while waiting for Spearing to serve out his suspension.

No disrespect to QPR but it's games against the likes of QPR that Coates should be given a start to gain more exposure. Not so crazy imo.

Yup Lucas does dictate the tempo of the game and his role is more important than some may realise. I have nothing but respect for the way he battled through the criticism to acclimatise with his new role here at Anfield. His passing was appalling in his first two seasons. He plays mostly short but crisp passes and sometimes all you need is to keep things simple. This is where he excels, in simplicity.

I don't know if Agger will be a hit in the defensive midfield role but I feel he has the right attributes. It's a popular discussion on all LFC forums now, just google it. Other than his footballing ability I think Agger is a natural leader and I'm sure that he'll be up to the task if he's asked to step into that role by King Kenny.

Who the heck is Dagger? Daniel Agger izzit?
Right now I cannot think of a better midfielder to replace Lucas than Agger, maybe apart from Gerrard. We need a replacement Defensive Midfielder.

I say buy JEREMY TOULALAN!!!

yeah, tot of that too, considering the physical/aerial threat of heidar helguson. skrtel dont always fare well against big physical forwards.

need to contain barton and faurlin and without lucas, im a lil worried plus our home form hasn't been good. if we cant get 3 points come this sat, we are in for a rocky ride.

oh btw, no to toulalan. im sure he's enjoying his money at malaga, plus he's not that young either. doubt he'll leave. come on, be realistic, stop making football manager like comments.

Yes Daniel Agger, or "Dagger" as he is fondly called by some.

Mmm I don't know about fragile but he sure isn't soft. He's has been fairly successful for example when he's had to mark Drogba, one of the strongest forwards around. One could argue that there is more contact playing as a central defender because you're always marking big players during set pieces. Can't disregard the fact that the's been pretty unlucky with injuries but amongst those injuries are a concussion and two cracked ribs. He's a tough lad and I'm sure he'll hold up. Not an ideal option but in my opinion, the best we have. I may be mistaken, but I think most of his injuries were incurred during training and not proper matches?

Added on December 8, 2011, 4:03 pmI'm still peeved that the FA is up in arms over our players surround Kevin Friend after he (imo) wrongly sent off Jay Spearing. Don't John Terry and his charges do it all the time?

Found this on twitter:

ATTENTION MAINSTREAM FOOTBALL WRITERS: Here's a quick rundown of "offensive gesture" incidents to help your write your Suarez stories properly:

9 May 2011: Manchester United and England player Wayne Rooney is photographed and videotaped making a clear V-sign toward Chelsea fans. FA decides not to take action.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/ma...gn-chelsea-fans

17 December 2007: Chelsea and England player Ashley Cole is photographed making a clear V-sign toward Arsenal fans. There is no immediately available record of the FA taking any action.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2328795/A...n-fall-out.html

19 January 2010: Manchester United and England player Gary Neville is photographed clearly extending a middle finger toward Manchester City's Carlos Tevez in full view of fans, at the end of a heated local derby. There is no immediately available record of the FA taking any action.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/ja...roberto-mancini

There's the hard part done for you. Now do your jobs. Find out whether Cole and Neville were punished -- Cole for doing precisely what Suarez is accused of, Neville for doing something similar and surely no more excusable.

If you find that they were indeed punished, then inform us, and demand the same for Suarez.

If you find that they were not, demand equal treatment for Suarez, regardless of the fact that he is your pantomime villain and does not play his international football for England.

i think we gonna see hendo+adam in center, bellamy+downing/maxi out-wide while Suarez(if not banned)+Kuyt upfront. With Kuyt playing just behind Suarez can provide cover for midfield in both defensive and attacking sense.

i've seen so many emotional liverpool fans here in my time in this forum and you turn out to be those of the worse. no reds fan can tolerate us libgering outside the reaches of glory, that i can assure you that

nobody care about the club any less than you here, clearly your attitude and thinking need to change. how old are you anyway? you speak and behave like a child. just tantrums to get what you want?

i am open for everything

i can accept any comment or advise even some humiliating comment
we are here to discuss, even call me childish, stupid idiolt i am fine with that
everyone care abt the club, and everyone love the club as well
i just make my point clear that there need some changes to some players that is totally out of reach. i am suportive to cetain buying also, like charlie adam, henderson downing suarez but no to bellamy and caroll becoz firstly bellamy, ....what future you can have w this guy? how many years you will have to make use of him, it is like micheal owen in man utd, totally useless, he have the pace but do he have the stamina to finish the whole games?
carroll, i dunno why u all feel carroll is a good buy, he will be someone like peter crouch where eventually settle w 10 goals in a season.
we buy some young striker i am ok w that, we can build that young team and then get better result for the next 5 yrs, but i am doubt with that.

forget to say another name ...reina...he have to go, KD should penalised for his fumble
should replace him with another young goalkeeper

thats all from me
