I guess City losing is pretty funny. Spent like there was no tomorrow and still fail to get in the last 16. Chelsea, the struggling club at the moment made it instead. biggrin.gif

still better than some team who got dumped out of the CL and taking potshots on us becos we have 5.. lol

its so laughable that it comes to show; there is no better word than an arrogant bunch stuck in their little hole they call home smile.gif

Actually although i could not care less for Man Utd's results, would having two English representatives knocked out at the group stages have repercussions on the number of CL and UEFA Cup slots available?

Also, this would undoubtedly have resulted in the EPL being perceived as 'less attractive' to the foreign stars, no?

All the laugh about us in Europa League and look who is there? I believe they would laugh at city if they make it thru 16 and city didnt. Luckily both din make thru or else I sense a trolling event in city thread again. sweat.gif

all the jibes/laughs towards the mancs here make us the same as them innit?

them not qualifying meaning the harder chances we gonna win a domestic cup that was less important for them before. though i'm shocked that manu crashed out in the early stages. its been a while since the last time they did.

I wanted to bring this up as well, but I guess one season with less English representative would not hurt England clubs coefficient too much. If this happens for a few season, it might a different story. Maybe by then, England will only have 3 UCL slots.

The Champions League is not the EPL/BPL.. its something different... thats why you see teams performing in the league will not necessarily do good in the UCL.

As much as some of you guys wanna laugh at the Manchester teams, we're not doing any better than them really.

Given Lucas is out for the whole season and Suarez going to be match banned up to 9 games. We're in deep water when the hectic Christmas/New Year schedule kicks in.

Also, anyone saw the news on Astro 817 just now? One of the ex-referees shared a very interesting talk on Spearing tackle. I forgot his name. Anyone knows?
And if you can spare some time, read these articles. Very interesting.
What did he say?

QUOTE(REDShaun @ Dec 8 2011, 09:06 AM)
Jonjo Shelvey. this man is like our new man to redeem some form of midfield formation. sure he loves to run up and sure he will try to score from distance but he does put me in mind of a younger version of captain marvel. before anyone of you flame me for shits and giggles, look at his performance at Blackpool. that garners some levels of respect. it may be a lesser league but a competitive one none the less. i truly feel that the invoking of the clause is warranted and was a really smart move to put it on the contract. now we just have to use him.

He's also just scored a brace for the ressies as we annihilated Wigan.

QUOTE(REDShaun @ Dec 8 2011, 09:06 AM)
Agger the Dagger. this man was mentioned to play on a DM role? i mean seriously...erm... i would rather he command our back four. why o why would anyone bother to put him up at DM when we paid so much for so many midfielders.  rclxub.gif
I raised that point actually. Was suggesting that we have ample cover in the absence of Lucas and in the event we have a shortage in midfield, Agger can fill the role because although he's tall (he's the same height as Didi Hamann btw), he's pretty mobile.

QUOTE(REDShaun @ Dec 8 2011, 09:25 AM)
like i said the fine was more towards trying to show the rest of the league that referees are indeed an endangered species, so any move or protest deemed hazardous to their well-being would be considered a major offence. of cos if you had them in your pocket, that would be another thing all together.

as for Suarez, well they charged him for it, well and good. is it a fine or a ban?  blink.gif
The thing is referees, unlike their assistants are full time professionals these days. There's no excuse for really poor decision making. In the case of Spearing, he was right there and it's clear as day Spearing cleared the ball and did his level best to keep his feet down after. Are we telling all footballers who play with such passion to curb their enthusiasm then?

Suarez has been charged, not sentenced. He can appeal against it but it's clear he showed them his finger so I reckon he should just suck it in and take whatever punishment gets meted out.

QUOTE(leftist @ Dec 8 2011, 09:40 AM)
i'm campaigning bout Xherdan Syaqiri since early season..much much cheaper than Eden Hazard but good enough potential to be a world class player..a player that liv normally buys nod.gif  nod.gif

I can see why. He was brilliant. Then again, I've only ever seen him play once so not a good judge perhaps.

Ya, i will not support liverpool anymore

with this kind of thinking, just accept whatever it is,

NO UCL, MEANS NO MORE TOP COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL

WITHOUT COMPETITIVE FOOTBALL, WHO WILL COME AND PLAY FOR US
EVEN IF WE HAVE TONS OF MONEY
SLOWLY WE WILL ATTRACT SECOND LINER PLAYER RATHER THAN TOP PLAYER

THIS IS THE FACT, i feel like liverpool fans here didnt see this as priority
if we keep missing UCL , then i would rather take a break

Something similar to this. http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/ex-...smissal-2538441

I don't remember much, but he said that referee sometimes has to make a hard decisions. The guy also said that he would've give Spearing a red card given the situation. Some referee may give yellow but some, well, ends up like Spearing. If the referee sees/sense excessive force in the tackle whether or not the intent is there, then he deserve to be sent off. Players' safety is the main priority for refs. Something like that...

eh i thought u support since you are 10? after heysel, how many times did we play in the CL prior to houllier, u reckon? and when we do qualified, how many times did we do well in them? i understand if the younger fans think like this because they were spoiled by Rafa's Liverpool. But most of us that support since late 80's/early 90's, doing well in PL and CL was very rare back then. so we learned to be patient and stay with team even we are shite.

it's entirely up to you what you want to do. nobody forcing you to keep supporting the team. if you had enough, its fine then. good luck and good riddance
