buffer will probably fill up fast IF you shoot at 36MP..which we probably won't.

I think the buffer can last for like 30 or so shots at 10MP JPEG

If I own a 36MP camera, I will shoot at 36MP. No point buying a Ferrari and driving like a Kancil tongue.gif

You can expect it to be at least D3s pricing.

Depend what you want to do more, Macro?
Or normal + portrait? Indoor or Outdoor?
The aperture does make a lot of difference indoor or lowlight and the DOF.
*
Maybe I don't really need macro to take pictures like insect's eyes,etc..
I think the 35mm is more suitable for me because I ususally take some family shots, landscapes and close ups
How does the 35mm f/1.8 perform in image quality compared to the 50mm f/1.8?

36mp for D800 is just overkill imo.

I dont need that much pixel and besides it's only 4fps in FX.

If the price between D800 vs D4 isn't much different, i think i'll go for D4 for smaller mp, faster burst & buffer. Moreover, same sensor size between 16mp and 36mp, it doesnt look like D800 will perform as well as D4 in low light shooting. That 36mp is more suitable for studio job

Yeah, totally agree. Price is rumoured at 12k.. and if D4 is at 15k~16k, definitely going for D4!

Face Recog for both cams, i guess D4 will have dual Expeed3 while D800 single Expeed 3

I think both will have the same processor, but different buffer size. The D800's probably limited and only hold a few shots before it runs out. Where else expect the D4 to be similar to D3s.. 50 RAWs or more.

How does the 35mm f/1.8 perform in image quality compared to the 50mm f/1.8?
*
For the price, i can say it is the cheapest & sharpest DX lens smile.gif. However, compared to the 50mm 1.8G, the 50mm is a tad bit sharper and gives better bokeh-ness. rclxms.gif

So it's better a bit in terms of sharpness and bokeh...
But the 35mm can fit more things than the 50mm,right?

did you use liveview to take this shot? i read some owners faced this problem of hotpixels when using liveview, or maybe perhaps your ISO is maxed and seems alot of noise. Maybe you can look at your settings and data.

But if you have this all of the time suggest you make alot of noise at the SC and make them change your sensor, treaten to take your case to consumer tribunal court if they give excuses...... vmad.gif

hi ojtee,

i already test with liveview and thru viewfinder..
change the iso from 100 - hi and change NR settings..
i also did update the firmware myself but didn't solve it.

maybe i should just send to hq and ask for replacement.
is it easy to get a replacement??..has anyone tried before??..

Yeah. I feel 35mm is just nice for dx if u want to use indoors (even outdoors). Some may feel a bit tight when using 50mm indoors, that's up to the user's preference or situation. Try it out urself on ur kitlens if u hv. Dial to 35mm and 50mm, see whichever is nicer for ur preference.

35mm on dx=52.5mm
50mm on dx=75mm
