Hi

Why nobody talk about Hublot? I like the latest Big bang series unfortunately i cant afford them yet.

Now aiming for Bell & Ross 92 series.

Any comment from sifu here? Price range in malaysia? Should i purchase from bell & ross boutique?
*
talk but cannot buy bored me.
B&R should retail 14K and up to ~30k+. discount depends on your bargaining skills.

Firstly, I'm not a sifu. Bell & Ross have nice designs but I think that they are overpriced. Most of their range of watches are using standard ETA movements that IMO does not justify their high price.
*
standard eta is misleading.
I believe what u meant is unmod eta movement usually 2892, but they are at elabore grade or better

this is my 1st post ever here. smile.gif i need some advice from the watch gurus here. i'm planning to buy a watch in 2-3 months time. my budget would be around 1.5k to 2.5k roughly and most probably i'll be using it on a daily basis.

i'm aiming to get a tissot or oris or even a tag heuer (if possible) with that budget. wud it be sufficient? and as i'll be using it daily, i'd prefer the strap to not be made of leather. daily usage wud make it smell and break after 2-3 yrs time, rite? rubber (is it? XD) strap wud be good. i'm not really into steel straps as well (not sure if this is the right term too. correct me pls if i'm wrong smile.gif )

2.5K Tag unlikely esp thru AD. Grey possible only F1 Series.

can get a Ocean7 if U are into mainstream brand.
http://www.ocean7watchco.com/category_s/1817.htm

UHR if a chrono and still have enough $$ to get a good strap to change it out. ETA 7750 at 2.5K budget that maybe 1 of the few brands you can find. Even Hamilton/Tissot today prices are way above 2.5K for a ETA 7750
http://www.uhr.info/en/Chronographs-from-UHR

Oris Williams F1 Team Skeleton Engine Date, iirc that is above your budget. it is above 3K or ~3.5K.

really depends where U go really.
Quartz is cheaper maybe that is why so many is found locally.
go else where U may find more of their Master collection.

I have to say ML masterpiece collection is of a different class than Longines Masters collection.
sophisticated in terms of complication ML does have tourbillion unlike Longines. Can't really compare the 2 brands as Longines is more entry level.
I wouldn't say its fashion watch if u take Armani/DKNY/GUESS into the picture.

I plan to buy new automatic watches either for couple or separate model for male female and my budget for each watch under RM2k. I am looking for both (male & female) watches that have below spec:

- Diameter/Case size = 38mm - 45mm (Male)
                                   34mm - 37mm (Female)

- Movement               = Automatic Self Winding ETA Swiss or German or Russian or Miyota Japan

- Glass                     = Crystal Sapphire

- Dial                        = Black or White or Copper, Luminous hands and Arabic numerals, included date display and option if there are open heart style (Not prefer for CHRONO)

- Water Resistant      = 100m and above (10ATM above)

- Case Material          = Stainless Steel / Titanium/ PVD/Tungsten

- Strap/Band             = Stainless Steel/Titanium or Robust Rubber

Any recommendation and suggestion?
*
checked out page 1 post 1? finding the right lady watch under your specs is not easy. lady watch not easy to find auto.
frederique constant is definitely not within your budget for a open heart, and it will not fit the 100m and steel band requirement

Went to a watch shop for repair. The shop said it's beyond repairable as there're too many rusty parts in the movement.
*
rado auto? just replace the movement. the shop should be able to tell U the movement number. The cost is still many times cheaper than getting it new.

bring it to Tag and get a quote.
if the oil is dried and U wind maybe can cause damage.
if drop and parts moved and hands not moving, still not that costly. just send in to get a quote.
else getting a 7750 to replace since Tag is using a 7750 anyway.

Seiko acquire Orient so that Seiko can use Orient factory to make more Seiko watches.

I saw this brand in Hong Kong.
I really liked one of them.

It is under Seiko according to the sales person.
But she said that J Springs is better than Seiko 5's because
J Springs is made in Japan.

J Springs is more expensive though
*
J Spring by Seiko, most watches cost around RM500. how much were U quoted?

QUOTE(sshark @ Jun 5 2012, 06:11 PM)
Don;t think you can get Spring Drive for anything less than rm20k. The cheaper ones are around rm15k. If the discount was better I think GS will pick up. Their 9s series calibres are fantastic. The calibres are polished but not much colors compared to Swiss calibres. Some of the models the bracelets are not as good as IWC or Rolex.
*
bracelets, really depends... very subject. I have to agree they are not well decorated. No blue screws, credor range are better decorated.

very low production, only 5-6K made a yr. that I like.

hey patryn, coincidently i'm looking to buy a tag as well but the choices are quite limited in the link. any idea if they plan to update the list?

btw guys, what do u guys think of a guy wearing a 39mm watch? i'm looking at the carrera but have received feedbacks that guys should wear at least 40+

please and thank you smile.gif
*
it is a sale event that happens 2X a yr. they will update the list with fewer items as items get sold out.
Don't expect them to increase the list.

young ppl today like 40mm or 44mm watches, nothing wrong with 39mm, 39mm and 40mm is not too far off.
it really depends on how the watch is design, some watches have smaller dial but they wear big.

QUOTE(blackstripes @ Jun 11 2012, 11:56 PM)
the carrera with 39mm is actually my fav and it's all I can afford but comments that it may look small can be a deal breaker cause I don't want to regret it in the future lol.

could you guys suggest any alternatives within the same price range for me? no preference whether it's leather or bracelet but i'm planning to wear it as a work watch. going for a slightly mature look. want to give the "i'm young but take me seriously" kinda vibe

btw ck77, thanks a bunch for the link!
*
how far in the future? 20yrs later? the trend then maybe smaller dial! with china and india picking up alot of watch maker returning to thin and smaller dial size.

what is the price range?

depending on ppl some may see a Tag as fashion watch, and ppl may just think "Young and have $$ to burn to flaunt it"

no matter what you choose, just choose a watch that love. Don't buy it for others.
