Normally, how much discount can I get? From my survey, I managed to get 10-20% only for Tag Heuer watches .. Seems just a normal deal where can get the same discount every where.

Different people different strokes..while some of us may detest the idea of collecting quartz F-1s, there are those who will ....after few years in this hobby, i am open to seeing all sorts of collection themes....

To me, buyers remorse is not about a design becoming outdated.  Its when buying without doing homework or buying on impulse.  And after slashing the credit card, realizes there is another one out there which you like better or coming soon...My 2 cents is if one actually buy after much consideration, reading, thinking, I doubt the owner will ever see his watch as `outdated' few years down the road and wanna sell it off cheaply......

Its Okayyyy what . C'mon , there MANY other brands who "upgrade" their ETA movement and charge 4 times the price .

Have been reading through the thread but cannot seem to find any discussion on what are some of the recommended watches for ladies. I am thinking of buying a watch for my wife and my budget is around RM5-7k. She is 38 and has a couple of nice watches. Her daily wear is a Dior Malice.

No requirements on quartz or automatic. She seems to like watches like Baume & Mercier Hampton.....clean looking watches. I also think she has a thing for rose gold watches.

Any suggestions on what to get for her?

I'm looking to get a piece of watch that's reliable and durable enough to last me a while. It doesn't matter if its a mechanical or quartz....just as long as its able to keep decently accurate time.

However I'd prefer (not a must) to have these:
- sapphire crystal (eveb better with AR)
- min 44mm diameter
- day & date display
- min 10atm WR
- great lume

I've been eyeing the Luminox 1879 Black Out but haven't much clue about them apart from the mixed reviews gathered from the internet. But I gotta say they seem pretty okay from the specs ...plus they claimed to be built as 'tough as nails'...and I really like the fact that the lume is definitely not gonna be a problem. But what would be your thoughts on the Luminox? And does anyone know roughly how much this model costs?

Well, apart from this, I'm sure there are many other brands/models worth considering when I'm looking to get the most out of RM1.5K - 2K.

There is a history behind Steinhart and Debaufre. If not mistaken they used to be the same company (Debaufre was for the US market) before they split.

I have been searching for a watch that will gonna be mostly used for formal event and sometimes as casual wear. The budget will be at around RM4k but the max that i can go is RM5k.

Some of my preference is listed as below:
1) must be automatic type (not going for quart)
2) prefer plain design but will consider chronograph design if its look attractive enough
3) must be stainless steel strap (not going for leather / plastic)
4) swiss made
