yes mod 6498. Alpina a sister brand of Frederique Constant, ~1-2yrs ago developed a inhouse movement.
I bought this late, in the sense prices of these have gone up significantly. Alpina is pretty renown for the regulators, esp extreme.

of all the regulators in the market, Louis Erard, Chronoswiss, Sinn; I found them too similar, looking for a sporty watch. Oh.. all Mod 6498 don't hack (even for those PAM!!), which is a down side for those looking for a hacking movement.

Found a great deal. no returns but its a decorated 6498 at just US$300 or under rm$1K

Pardon me, noob here

How come the watches have same dials but different brand? Citizen and Campanola related?
*
Campanola is citizen's luxury line, much like Grand Seiko /Credor for Seiko.

Im interested in a Panerai Radiomir, saw a used one at Amcorp Mall the other day. Although its a whopping RM17k, anyone knows where can find a bit cheap? Just surveying first though.. Hehe
*
whats the exact model number? Radiomir is on alot of series.
at 17K I think its something like this? not if it base off Swiss Unitas, it does not hack, cannot stop second hand. Swiss Unitas only cost ~US$200. Paying $17K, U are paying alot for the brand.

thanks mate for the info, yeah there are mechanical which are within my budget but I've not seen any with sapphire crystal. I'm expecting a quartz due to my budget and requirement for sapphire coz I'm a little paranoid seeing the watch face getting any scratch lol...

would love yo check out your laco, PM me when you think it's ready ya? I assume it's with a mineral crystal?
*
iirc all Laco on miyota movement is on mineral.

sapphire crystal watch prices are generally higher. 400-500 rm no way u'll get sapphire.
u can find sapphire coated ones if u're lucky

Yup Laco with Miyota movements come with mineral glass. So far I've found mineral glass to be pretty scratch resistant, as long as you don't abuse your watch.

Whoa, didn't expect Campanolas to cost >3k USD. The craftsmanship is impressive but can't say I will pay that amount of money for a quartz happy.gif
*
Campanolas focus on the dial manufacturing movement is secondary, the Jap artisan working on it have 30-50yrs of experience. many work on the dial lacquering with their bear fingers. Alot of the 60s-70s yr old artisan don't have fingerprint on the fingers they work extensive with.

just checked the prices comparing steinhart and gnomon, slightly lo. puluh2 ringgit diff only.. sad.gif
are u looking it right?
steinhart u don't pay 19% tax but EUR$39 shipping.

steinhart it is EUR$ 353+39 = USD$525.

gnomon is US$550 + cost of travelling to SG or shipping.

it is at least RM$80 in savings.

used to be whole lot cheaper.

ppl looking for a non inhouse movement on PAM should read this
http://panerai.watchprosite.com/show-forum...1688/ti-750473/

the non display back version on PAM is kinda weakly decorated. I have to say close to the job steinhart did for 0.1 of the cost.

is there any other watches that i can get them in msia?
*
steinhart online only - brands that distributes thru AD are over your budget for the kinda watch U are going for.

willing to go Singapore?
U can get the same watch thru middle man for RM$100-200 more.

Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand watch from my friend. A Tag Heuer watch. I wanted to know if there is any place that provide a cleaning up service on watch. As in clean the watch to make it look like brand new.

And anyone here know how much it would cost to change the metal strap on Tag Heuer?
*
clean? are U plan on relume too? is that a quartz or auto?
changing the Steel Band would cost alot of money. can cost anywhere from rm$500-1k.

not related, sharing a deal. ~6k, after 42% discount. a MOD 7750 with pwr res. LE at 150 pcs only

Anyone saw Maurice Lacroix Pontos Rectangulaire Chronographe Full Black (PT6197-SS001-331) in KL? Tried to search several shops but didn't see one. One shop told me Maurice Lacroix discontinued this model but I am quite skeptical about this as it was just being introduced in 2010. May try my luck at Maurice Lacroix flagship store in Starhill.

interesting design. U should give them a call b4 visiting and see if they can order it

thats a beater!
don't think Louis Erard make Steel band, depending on the lug size u may find it with 3rd brand. U could buy it online and change it yourself or walk into a watchmaker to get them done (depending on where u are located).
