If only our FOX Family Movies HD available as freeview on B.yond, as it's for family view.

With Fox Movies making its debut around here we can see the major revamp of HBO,SM and Cinemax next month,bringing some latest movies as a promotion to stay on on demand!
Based on  the STAR, YTL should be coming soon, while in the pipeline  is Maxis IPTV with Fetchtv  and ABN........No  big hopes just keeping fingers crossed on YTL and ABN ! We cannot forget Mitv which promised a relaunch!

Not sure of how many those company will be able to launch HD channel as many as B.yond HD channel...

Anyone know how to setup subtitle for HBO HD ?

Viacom18 Secures Measat Asia Satellite Carriage


Kuala Lumpur – MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (“MEASAT”) announced today an agreement with Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd. (“Viacom 18”) for use of the MEASAT-3a satellite for the international distribution of Viacom 18’s channels across the Asian region.

Viacom 18 is a 50/50 joint venture operation in India between Viacom Inc. and the Network 18 Group. The joint venture includes leading brands across television, film and digital media to build one of India’s leading multimedia entertainment powerhouse. The brands include MTV, NICK, VH1, COLORS and Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

"With wide coverage and a powerful Asian footprint, MEASAT-3a is the obvious satellite choice for distribution of our international services," said Piyush Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, Viacom 18.

“MEASAT is excited to be working with Viacom 18 to distribute its popular international channels via MEASAT-3a” said Yau Chyong Lim, Senior Director, Sales and Marketing, MEASAT. “The addition of Viacom 18’s channels further enhances the assortment of premium channels on MEASAT’s 91.5°E Asia video neighbourhood.”

The MEASAT-3/3a satellites distribute News, Lifestyle, Music, General Entertainment, Sports and Documentary channels across Asia. With a bouquet of SD, HD and 3D channels, MEASAT is the preferred satellite operator for broadcast distribution in the region.

Hopefully by 2012, there'll be permanant HD channel for Indian & Malay.

Capital TV is a new business and finance TV channel like no other. Just to share my experience of installing Astro Byond PVR decoder in condominium

Problems you might face
a) You are using centralized dish
b) There is only one point in living room (and another point in bedroom)
c) Your PVR machine need two coaxials cables, and you are not allow to install individual dish

You can use PVR machine with the following options
a) using Stacker-Destacker (Most popular options)

- The astro installer need to order this item from Astro, and it cost RM300
- they will install a unit in "Riser Room" near the staircase, and a unit behind our astro machine
- Some management might not allow you to install the device in Riser room
- The signal might not clear

b) using a splitter, to split the coaxial cable from your wall point

- this might be a temporary solution
- Only around RM50 for this item
- we can watch both normal & HD channels if we are NOT recording
- If you are recording one HD channel, you CANT watch SD channel, but you CAN watch & record second HD channel
- If you are recording one SD channel, you CAN watch & record another SD channel, and CAN watch another HD channel (if i remember correctly)
c) If your condominium has two wall points (one in living room, and one in bedroom)
- You can pull the cable from bedroom to your living room, so that you will have two coaxial cable for your PVR
- I am using this method, this method doesnt guarantee work in your condo, please buy coaxial cable RG-6/U to try it (only around RM1.xx per meter)
