Try this, it works for me in both cases

If you are OTA update
Changing DNS in iOS

1. Tap on Settings, tap on “Wi-Fi”, and tap on the blue arrow next to the router name
2. Under “DHCP” tab tap on “DNS” and replace with: “208.67.222.222″ for OpenDNS
3. Tap the Back button and attempt to use OTA again

Or if you update using iTunes
Change DNS in OS X

1. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu
2. Click on “Network” and then click on ‘Advanced’ in the lower right corner
3. Click the “DNS” tab and then add a new DNS server by clicking the “+” icon, adding “208.67.222.222″ for OpenDNS
4. Drag the newly added DNS server to the top of the list, click “OK” then close out of System Preferences
5. On a Mac you may need to follow this up with flushing DNS cache, so open the Terminal and type the following:
dscacheutil -flushcache

Hmmm ... I don't find the upgrade a worth to sacrifice my jailbreak tweak and apps. Battery life? I don't get this although my phone usage with 3G can only last 4 hours 30 min ++ but I have a USB cable in office and in the car so I'm covered.

There is no significant upgrade from iOS 5.01 to 5.1 for ppl that is using JB. Its really up to you, smile.gif

My iOS 5.01 is sending data via 3G at a rate of 40mb every 2 minutes for no apparent reason resulting in bill shock every month

However today not really active with whatsapp, GF working..wehooo!!
3G off all time EDGE only
FB also on occasionally.

No, this may probably happen to iOS 5.1 also, I have encountered before, solved it by turning on the 3G, that's all.

Buy a 2K phone and keep having this issue
Not worthy at all~~
I will be having this issue almost everyday~
