My sgs is 16mths old and now I kept it inside the drawer waiting for ics

For normal user my advice just get a phone which could make a phone call

i can't feel any lag for ADW EX on my Note, way smoother than default touchwiz.  I am on stock rom, only rooted, nothing more.

ic... anyway for me, its all about the appearance not the performance, during SGS times yea performance is what i seek, for now? i look for themes instead, AOSP lockscreen, batt %, etc
It will make our phone stand out even more and looks more personalized.... Phones nowadays are becoming some sort of a personal assistant, and by personalizing it into your own style, it would feel much better. This is why i didnt choose iPhone becoz its boring when evrybody have one.

haha i dont install tones of apps, i dont need to backup smses, so not a big deal for me, once i flash it would normally take 10 to 15 mins to have my phone back functioning nicely ^^

i dont understand why do people install like 100 to 300 apps, not every app are used and most have the same functions. I play games more often hehe.

Today I just found that when the battery critical low <3%, the display light cannot be adjusted, it turns to minimum and the touch key light always off.
Not notice this before, not sure is the default setting or I accidentally set it.  Sorry for asking this, newbie here. Thanks

I hv 2 home screens only with less than 20 frequent apps used (including stock apps). And most of it data stored inside the cloud. Login to gmail and cloud services..im back in business

I like to read tweeter, pulse (technology news) and fb... gnote so far the best that fit my reading habits.

and go allit to get a 2a charger, charging time is significantly reduce after i use 2A charger. 

how often do you flash your Note? Every time there's a new ROM/firmware/kernel, custom or otherwise?

First of all., to all those flasholic (sp?), go get a SGSII non-G version where you can spend every minutes of your life flashing custom roms. That phone got tons of custom roms for you to ply on. But Note.?
I thought when i buy this phone my life can take an easy path of quiet and peaceful thread but boy., am i wrong. With only two and three custom roms available for Note, this thread becomes chaos already ~~lolol~~

Mine clean and simple with stock rom. Clicking the.clock.u see there brings me to.alarm and clock very useful. Clean.

so can u share which rom and kernel is good for u? in term of lag fix? 

im using HK rom as suggest by Uncle Benny and flash the kernel to FM 1.2. dont feel lag with launcher pro and touchwiz. so far its smooth like my S2. you can try to install sparepart plus to tweak the animation.

I flash samsung stock rom/leaked rom. Then added theme and performance script if any.

For normal user my advice just use KIES and wait for official update for bug fixes. No worry.

Try Barometer HD. It's a simple app with not much resonance/interest to the general public unless you're a meteorologist or aviator. One fun experiment you might be interest to try is when you get on board a place, try this app and see what your cabin altitude your plane is current flying at. OR if you're the adventurous type, use it to check your pressure altitude when your hiking up Mt.Everest.

I know my plane goes up to between 4,000ft-8,400ft cabin altitude depending on cruising level.

tq.. now will compare the accuracy with my protrek.. for me using barometer is quite handy. can predict what the weather gonna be, as the weather apps only for specific place..
