QUOTE(zsnipes @ Nov 19 2011, 12:19 PM) One more concern for me. fits nicely in both my jeans and my tight formal pants... but my phone was raped by all my colleagues...How do you guys carry the Samsung Note ? In ur pockets ? Jeans can fit ? or just carrying the phone while walking. Moreover, after protect it using Flip Case, will make it even bigger to fit into pants ? for small size phone, I very much like the belt-clip type, i don't think Note can use this way Girls so good, just throw inside the handbag can liao not good being the first user in the whole company.... news spreads like fire |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Nov 24 2011, 07:01 PM) So you use your Note as a flashing device, with your SGS as your phone? You don't expect others to follow suit with this "use one phone, flash the other" mentality, do you? why bother bro, its what we choose to do, besides, we are just searching for the right UI and performance we need to suit our daily life. I had a SGS previously and i flash almost every week, but when i hit a nice ROM then i stop.Samsung should've be grateful that they have someone like you who troubleshoot and do ROM updates on their behalf, and not getting paid to do so too! That job is supposed to be theirs. So if samsung stock roms had problems we keep quiet and just use it? Voicing it out and troubleshooting solves this kind of problems, everything now is very dependent on user base, a large user base like SGS have their hands on an alpha build ICS. Imagine if one day everybody stops flashing, the developers can stop and there goes a bunch of people screaming for new ROMs. its a cycle my friend. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Nov 24 2011, 07:19 PM) I'm not asking for custom ROMs to stop being developed, I'm asking sane users to settle on one, instead of jumping around ROMs and leaving the phone barebones just to restore it. ic... anyway for me, its all about the appearance not the performance, during SGS times yea performance is what i seek, for now? i look for themes instead, AOSP lockscreen, batt %, etcI certainly don't want Samsung to stop producing more firmware updates, but they don't produce updates in crazy frequency like the custom ROMs. You're running the phone down to the ground as experimental guinea pig to ROMs produced by someone you don't know, and no idea of the integrity or security of the said ROM. The guy could just program backdoor and keystroke logger to your accounts and transmit it back to them for their own malicious use. Precisely. Each new custom ROMs comes with its own quirks and bugs, while squashing the ones the phone used to have previously. When does the cycle end? Not to mention the point about security. Stable? Sure. Secure? How do you know? It will make our phone stand out even more and looks more personalized.... Phones nowadays are becoming some sort of a personal assistant, and by personalizing it into your own style, it would feel much better. This is why i didnt choose iPhone becoz its boring when evrybody have one. haha i dont install tones of apps, i dont need to backup smses, so not a big deal for me, once i flash it would normally take 10 to 15 mins to have my phone back functioning nicely ^^ i dont understand why do people install like 100 to 300 apps, not every app are used and most have the same functions. I play games more often hehe. |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Nov 24 2011, 07:28 PM) First of all., to all those flasholic (sp?), go get a SGSII non-G version where you can spend every minutes of your life flashing custom roms. That phone got tons of custom roms for you to ply on. But Note.? haha nah, its hard to get a non G sgs2 thats y i moved on to note... I thought when i buy this phone my life can take an easy path of quiet and peaceful thread but boy., am i wrong. With only two and three custom roms available for Note, this thread becomes chaos already ~~lolol~~ a peaceful thread??? admiring our note every now and then? XD |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Nov 24 2011, 07:41 PM) Unless your games are the simple games, restoring games back requires reinstallation and redownload of game data IIANM, especially high end ones from Gameloft, for example. Remember I said elements, not apps, so that 300 elements needs to be restored back and in working order. Last I check, a restore from a backup isn't entirely foolproof, there will be elements that require re-setting and, if one has lots of services like those, it is not desirable. Flash 10 times, set those back 10 times? didnt take me long to backup and restore gameloft games also... haha u dont need to redownload those data files too... it stays in the internal storage. elements... err again not a big problem also...I see the same thing being done in XDA forums, but the custom ROM creator always posts what's new/updated/fixed in that ROM he created and it's up to the end-user to evaluate whether it's enough trouble to download/flash/wipe his device to get to those features updated/bug fixed. My point is, it is always DOCUMENTED, you don't have to try each and every one of them to confirm the changelogs. Bottom line is, it's a phone, not an EEPROM chip for you to download strings of code into and see how it works. I personally wouldn't buy an EEPROM chip worth RM2k to program on, unless I see some beneficial reason to do so (programming for an app, testing applications for sale, etc). I don't work for free. Added on November 24, 2011, 7:43 pmAnd oh, I checked LYN webpage, it says it's a "forum". Last I checked, in a "forum", there's bound to be difference in opinions. Doesn't mean that it is chaos. bro there's people who likes to flash and there's people who likes a normal phone/tablet... why go to the extend of questioning another's way of living. chill bro |

QUOTE(Avatar1975 @ Nov 25 2011, 11:04 PM) how much u bought? from ebay? i bought it from tskhor, Rm38 + postage...is soft type or hard type? how the hand feel when hold? can post some pic? its the soft one, nvr fancy hard case since i wan some shock resistance. feels nice weirdly i feel that my note is thinner with the case on haha mayb becoz of the sides being elevated by the case. The back is matte and nice to hold with grips on the side. Dont know about others, but i heard some feedbacks saying that the charger port is not big enough, not for my case, i tried with 2 microUSB cables and it is still a perfect fit. hmm i dont have another camera to take pics with so cant really show it off... |
