Now days Panasonic WH no more switch to control water On & Off?
I just survey last week, from Push ON Off button to rotate On Off knob, now totally remove? means only can use the inlet valve to control which i quite worry it will break.

I'm looking at basic with no pump model.

Many WH had moved out of having a switch to control the on/off, there hv a sensor to detect water flow, so as turn on the water valve, it switches on the heater. Whats important is to have heater controller and pump controller

Ya, i just notice that. I so used to have On/Off water switch, as no need to adjust water flow. Once is set, just press the button each time. Convenient for my kids too. Else they keep adjust the water flow.

Water flow valve nowadays are sturdy, and it also empowers the user, if the flow is too high and heat is lesser then one can adjust it, else just open the valve full all the time as a ON switch...its a matter of getting use to it biggrin.gif

Im using it in that manner for 20yrs, and no issue with the valve. My older unit did have the ON/OFF switch

Own use, Panasonic with push on off. Rental just get cheapest SIRIM approved.

From almost 30 years ago with National push on off model until today’s Panasonic they are the only one I know that uses push button on off

Not sure if got others, if yes please share. It is super easy to use.

What you talking? Who say don’t have?

Isn’t this Panasonic on/off model?

And don’t listen to the dumb dumb. Panasonic still has the water flow valve if you want to adjust it. But it’s usually a set and forget affair.

Yes, there are still some models who still uses On/OFF buttons, it all depends on consumer's preference. No right or wrong.

Pana M and N series still has them together with Joven SC model. Not sure of any other brands/models.

This is a tough one! I too have similar problem, and was contemplating if I want to fit a instant heater.
I have a storage tank that feeds to my tub, sink and a shower. The pipe that goes to shower is block, the plumber tried various way, to clear the block, but nothing worked.

Finally decide to stopo using the shower area, since I have a tub which can also be used as shower and 2 other bathrooms.

In your case, you may look into, not hacking the wall, but re-piping on surface with casing, that will help for future repair works and doesnt look that bad.

And yes, the other option is to fit instant heater

Personally, I dont there is a THE brand, it depends on what you want and the look/design of it, which is very much individual liking. If you want lesser noise, look for DC motor types, and if you dont mind noise, then AC motor has a little bit more power. Long time ago, the gap of the water pressure was higher, but nowadays, its much closer.

Look at the energy rating and warranty as well. Personally I like Alpha, but there are many more new players in the market like Deka, etc, do check those out.

Yeah. The power cable can be rerouted upward and down to be out of the way. And if the shower unit can be relocated to the left, it would also make things a lot neater...

The casing is PVC and not metal.
The shower rod is metal, and my whole unit is 20 years old, no rust thus far. Previously my family had Pana, and switched to Beebest back then, which is similar to Aplha.
The valve, been working smoothly for 20 yrs. biggrin.gif

I went with this model, since it has both temp and pump controller. Back then not many models has pump controller.
