Features, design, look.

Just buy the cheapest Panasonic water heater if you don't need fancy features.

my concern is regarding the safety like electrocuted, is actually all the same compliance ?

I don't know if all are the same.

I know I have a National water heater that served for 15+ years. And National is now known as Panasonic.
Panasonic is the top 10 consumer electronics company in the whole world.

IF brand A, a local brand, is almost the same price versus Panasonic, I will buy the Panasonic. Why? Panasonic have a good history for me, and my other appliances by Panasonic -- fridge, air con, all work well. I won't buy a small local brand cause who knows if they will still be in business tomorrow? And do they have the resources to do the QC? Or they just import it white label from a factory in China and sell it here? I dunno, and don't want to waste my time to think about it.

Air con need to service every year. Cause use more. Last time air con don’t use that often as weather was cooler. At least that’s my case.

The Panasonic air con that’s not cold is is the inverter series for me. The R22 normal air con still going strong.

Off topic d. But yes my air con need to service every 15 months averagely. Open and wash the indoor unit, cause I do 0 maintenance on it myself. On 24/7.

No add gas just wash the dust.

Any comment on Panasonic DH-3NDP1MS ?
*
What for?
Just buy the basic Panasonic with push on/off. Pump if you need it.

The temperature usually set and forget. Don’t need anything fancy.

The internal heating elements are the same across the cheap and expensive models.

Panasonic WH   easily last 10 years.

Because Panasonic is the son of the great National elephant water heater.

Actually no brainer, Panasonic is the best choice versus any other brands, don’t need to spend a lot to buy the high end ones. Just decide if you want push on/off which I feel is safer and more convenient or the water valve ones. And whether you need pump or not.

Greetings, peeps. Need to replace this ancient stuff(20 years already) tongue.gif
Any recommendations? Actually this old-timer still kicking well, heating power is sufficient 3.3kW(not living in highland), it just lacks booster pump. Need to replace it with a new one with same/superior durability and excellent pump. Don't really mind if it's AC (noisy) or DC(silent) as long as the big boss enjoy her shower time. Please help icon_question.gif
Just get the Panasonic with pump. Should do the trick. It’ll have the same push to on/off the unit with water flow, which you are used to. No need to fuss around with the water flow tap.

Hi experts, Is it true that instant water heater needs to be replaced after 10 years ?
*
If the heating element no longer working yes. But mine more than 10 years.. Panasonic’s ancestor… National brand with the whale still working fine… shit it is 2024… more than 20 years.

Panasonic is good… push to start ones convenient and easy to use. No need to play around with the water valve every time to turn on.

Electrician tell me Toshiba is crap from China.. he install for me in my guest room. I bought it because it’s cheap. lol. He see it fail way more than Joven and Alpha our local brand..

Got to know Cornell is a co-brand of Pensonic.
This blardy blood sucking company charges RM 55 to just come to check per product.
Which means if you have 2 heaters, you need to pay RM110 just for checking even though in then same house.
The reception got the cheek to tell you that only one part of the heater is covered which is the heating element. If other parts are faulty the you need to pay more. Not sure how much they will be quoting me after checking.
Some more, the technicians are not working on weekends. Which means that you need to take leave to attend to them.

Safe to say that I will not be buying Pensonic and its co-brand such as Cornell, Lebensstil, Morphy Richards, Belling, Gaggia

2012 you feedback Pensonic lousy
Then you bought Cornell? 😂

I recently bought Pensonic cause it’s cheap… see how it fares. But my own house use I won’t buy Pensonic for sure. I think their stuff despite made in Malaysia no quality. I bought a Pensonic stand fan a year ago, it died exactly 1 year mark so I send for warranty claim in PJ. Their service center looks run down and when I enter a lady was claiming the exact same fan! Chatted with her and she said she bought 3 from Lotus’s and all spoiled within 6 months.

Surprisingly cheap Midea water heater is going strong for with heavy use (3 pax shower daily).

It means that your original water pressure (without the water heater's built-in pump) is already strong, close or even surpassing what the water heater's built-in pump can generate.

Note that regardless of whichever water heater brands u purchase, water heaters' built-in pumps are way smaller in comparison with the lights of external booster pumps, such as those Grundfos (https://s.shopee.com.my/BDMfj7nW6) or Tsunami (https://s.shopee.com.my/1B6Sj91TNJ) which cost way more as well and way more powerful.

So for example, if your house has one of these external booster pumps installed at your main water supply, u will not feel any difference between turning on and off your water heater's built-in pump during showers.
*
Good points. If house already have a central pump like Grundfos, don't need to buy water heater with pump... waste money.

In fact if the water pressure is very high, need to turn down the flow else the water won't heat up enough.

any brand model to recommend for instant water heater ?

thanks ..

Own use, Panasonic with push on off. Rental just get cheapest SIRIM approved.

From almost 30 years ago with National push on off model until today’s Panasonic they are the only one I know that uses push button on off

Not sure if got others, if yes please share. It is super easy to use.

Now days Panasonic WH no more switch to control water On & Off?
I just survey last week, from Push ON Off button to rotate On Off knob, now totally remove? means only can use the inlet valve to control which i quite worry it will break.

I'm looking at basic with no pump model.
*
What you talking? Who say don’t have?

Isn’t this Panasonic on/off model?

And don’t listen to the dumb dumb. Panasonic still has the water flow valve if you want to adjust it. But it’s usually a set and forget affair.

For enamel storage water heater, is Centon or Rheem better?
*
I use Joven and Seers. Never heard of Rheem.

I know Centon brand. Many property developers use Joven, and new house come with it. My Seers is good, 5 years and doing strong.

Joven also quite good la, my gf house 12 years+ it died. Replaced with Midea. Then found out neighbors call Joven to come repair by replacing the heating element. 12 years plus consider good lo.

I would choose Joven. Or Midea. Centon maybe. Rheem I never hear before so won’t bother. Seers very expensive, I won’t choose it now since I don’t need energy savings.

old unit has more flow and still hotter than new unit.
*
Flow determined by water pressure ma not the water heater. Hotter or not see the wattage. I think majority all 3.6kW with some special units catered to lower input temp with higher wattages.

i already avoid buying panasonic water heater... i use joven for 10yrs since then . every 10yrs change once.

Why need to change? Heating performance deteriorate? I still like the Panasonic push button on/off.
