Looking at options for an air source heat pump, but can find many options in malaysia. Anyone with experience with these for residential use?

An option, except that already have solar PV for electricity. Added benefit of cooling.

I remembered a trip to my friend's place in Cameron where the family uses a gas water heater. One of them in the group was showering and it ran out of gas ....lol

It was a design where one can see the flame heating the pipe when showering.

I am not sure of the features now whether it has an indicator.

My condo is designed to use storage water heater, so hot water piping is prepared above the plaster ceiling and mixer tap embedded behind the shower wall.

Now let's say if I wish to use instant heater instead, can I connect my water inlet to the hot water piping? Does it affect the pressure?

The reason I'm thinking of this is that if I didn't use the hot water piping, I have to turn the mixer tap to the most right (to maximise water inlet). If I turn to middle or left, then pressure drops since there is no hot water coming in.

The water pressure for both are controlled by the mixer. Since the hot piping is not connected to the mixer, there wont be any water flowing when the mixer is turn to left.

You can diy a temp 'hot piping' connection to the mixer without going through any heater and check the pressure for both.

Thanks! Your meaning of DIY a temp "hot piping" connection is to connect the water inlet to the piping above the plaster ceiling like I mentioned earlier in the post, correct me if I misunderstood.

If correct, what material of hose/pipe connection to connect them for long term usage? Those flexible hose (type that we use under kitchen sink/basin suitable? Cold water is HDPE and hot water is PPR

Yes, you can try using the gas hose or PPR and clip. I think it should fit.

For technical issue, better for you to call Electrolux.

it has a stronger heater than the typical 3kW class. so if water pressure strong then this will be nice to use.

however as it takes 18.3A as per the rated power,
your wiring need to be up to code to support. using ciplak or fake wire will not have sufficient current carrying capacity to support well (undersized cable will heat up). Good quality 2.5mm² cable no problem.

any WH is just a fancy electric kettle. the most important life insurance is a properly fitted 10mA RCD at your DB box. one time payment saja no annual renewal premium.

Hi, because my condo is using the 3 phase electric power, so as per the DB box the current voltage for my unit is 415V. If I were to buy the Serene WH which consume up to 4.2KW.

4200/415=10.12A

So the 2.5mm cable can still cope with it right?

4200/230V, three phase means 3 lanes road (not triple speed limit).
The DB box component may be able to handle 415V as well but your residential power supply is 230V by default, and if this is the heater series https://www.centon.my/product/serene-series/ it also use 230V.

This is approx 18.2A but that is close to redlining your 2.5mm² cable safe limit of 21A..and this is assuming proper cable (not substandard cable) was installee based on enclosed in conduit method B1 in https://www.electrical-installation.org/enw...a_of_conductors

Theoretically can use the existing cabling. But just note that ST guideline specify 4mm² cable lah. tongue.gif

Yup. Better to use thicker cable.
Dont risk when comes to electrical cabling for high power appliances. A house in my neighborhood caught fire at DB box, suspected high current load on one breaker.

Hi all. Seeking for feedbacks on water heater of following models. I have narrow to two models which is Panasonic DH-3NDP1MS (digital) and Alpha I18 both with pump. However, i googled and there are few bad comments for the panasonic as the digital dont lock to the temperature you use that need to press everytime u use and quality not as good for a panasonic. Mind to share any other models that is good?

Personally I will choose something as simple as possible with the longest warranty. In the end I just want to shower hot water in the least troublesome way. No need for so high tech.

Pana DH-3MP1/DH-3MP2 (with pump & push start) thumbup.gif

M series is tried and true workhorse. N series leh..my advise better buy M series, cheaper n more reliable due to lesser cost cutting.

Its the internal organs' reliability that matter.

I use the non pump DH-3MS1 for few years and works like a charm. LCD screen got the same old lifespan issue after 8-10 years (I'm sure u have seen digital watch, old monitors, calculator screens they turn purple or black "bruises" and then you need to fuss with fixing it via the polarizer film or the reflective backing film to get it working -- too much hassle)..

Hi wave.gif
They're both M series, no problem.
Diff between them just plastic colour.

Prefer pana coz the rest dont have push start button.
When eyes all stinging from hair shampoo..then u will appreciate the push start button smile.gif
