Those of you wish to install storage heater, I would suggest you have to think twice before buying Joven product. I have used Joven before and was long lasting but I am not sure now.

Purchase a 35L JH35HE On Oct 2015.
Heating element died and replaced on Jan 2019 (Died around 3.3 years)

Then same element died and replaced on Jul 2019 (died 6 months)

In March 2020, the same element died again (died 8 months).

Now changing to another brand.

I'm still using my 1995 era National water heater.
The only thing that needed me to change was the shower hose and head (just retrofit new spare parts from latest model head) coz it got gunked up after 20 years and pressure not as strong..other than that I'm still using it to-date.

To date our whole family hardly buy new water heaters unless when we get additional bathrooms (from moving house/new property), brought along my 200x era Panasonic squarish model and still happily using in my new place. So if I were to buy a WH must be Panasonic press on press off type.

Yes, Joven last time was good. My original lasted almost 15 years. After replacing another Joven, element dead within 1 1/2 years. So messy to change until my ceiling all wet.

agreed with you, my first joven water heater with pump died less than 3 years time,
then bought the same model again to replace. yet died in less than 2 years time.
been using panasonic for 5 years, currently just had an issue with the temperature too hot.

I don't care now, just bought Midea because Modes offers 7 years warranty for tank and 4 years on heating element.

I don't trust other brand that only offers 1 year warranty.

For Midea at least I don't have to bother for 4-5 years

I have seen people comment before that the Panasonic push stop button will become longgar after a while. Even after push to stop got some water continue to leak through. I think it's part of wear and year probably. So best to avoid using this button often if possible.

So far my National ones (circa 1995 or 1997 by original house owner) still working fine.. I think not punching it with cow strength helps rclxms.gif
I still reuse another square type panasonic (air bubble jet series).. just installed 2nd time (new place) and changed mounting pole to stationary holder type
Also bought another DH-3MS1MW for RM278 on pee pee coz can get RM23 cashback coins

QUOTE(wkc @ Feb 20 2020, 10:20 AM)
Hi guys, any recommended water heater with pump?

Budget around RM500?
*
Panasonic?
Technically beyond the basic model with pump DH-3RP1MK, you're paying for the push button feature and mounting pole (height adjustable) for the holder DH-3MP1MW, other higher series just nicer plastic casing and chrome bits for the shower head & mount (purely cosmetics)

Cheapest one that fits the bill is the basic model DH-3RP1MK
With Ag+ shower head and pole mounting and push button DH-3MP1MW - I recommend this one coz of the shower head

Functionally the same 3600W internals (heater)- unless you take the 4800W super powerful long model for highlands (if you're in cold place)

Need to research where these are made.. but IIRC these are 3800W models using 16.5A
The usual spec was around 3300W- now increased to 3600W for standard pana models. 3600W consume 15.6A, 3300 14.3A at 230V
With increasing power ur water when showering can maintain target temp better if flow is strong. It also means higher demand on the wiring.. best is to use 4mm wires, 2.5mm minimum also gets warm after a 20 mins usage.

My general feeling is either locally if they have factory here, or within the region. I see the way the market, seems to be a specific product targeted at regional market.

Looks good, this is the latest model w LCD screen.
However I still like basic functional design using knob control, less things to fail..
coz LCDs..well none of my casio calculators from high school are usable now (15 years later) coz the LCD screen turned purple.

What for?
Just buy the basic Panasonic with push on/off. Pump if you need it.

The temperature usually set and forget. Don’t need anything fancy.

The internal heating elements are the same across the cheap and expensive models.
