Anyone has idea how to check whether our home water pressure is enough or not for a water heater? I am not sure whether I need to buy a water heater with DC pump. I am staying in double storey house and the water heater gonna install at second floor.

If u installed water filter, there's gauge showing pressure. Use to be 2.5-3 bars 5 yrs back in KV, nowadays its mostly max 2 bars . Depending on your preferences, if u ok with slow water then no need pump, but if u like full shower with fast water, use pump.

U can judge the pressure if the water is not much than a pee stream, then u will need a pump.
If the water is really strong (like in my case), I'm setting my WH to 80-95% heat just to take bath at night coz pressure too good so water doesn't warm up sufficiently as my heater only 3300W. If I lower down the water volume I can use a lower heat setting but then the bath not so satisfying.

Now I know why they sell bigger heaters 4800W laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Can anyone recommend me a water heater with pump.

My house water pressure is poor. Currently using a 3600w panasonic water heater for 5 years. After 3 years the temperature setting become haywire. It becomes max hot. Need to put in pail with cold water. Still using this water heater though. Is Toshiba good?

if water pressure is too low, water temperature will be high

if water pressure is too fast, water temperature will be low

i've used it about few years already. It is good, high quality, the pump pressure is good ( maybe my water pressure is already high) so it will increase more. The hot water is fast as well, just need to turn the know slightly towards the hotter one to get fast hot water, but then u can turn it down once u get the hotter water.

Hey guys, what's a decent and water heater with pump that is good quality? Design doesnt matter. Currently looking at Joven, but after reading, panasonic seems good as well.
Budget +/- 400. Any advise?

I'm only choosing between this 2 brands for my storage water heater;
Joven due to the brand
Hydro1 due to its claims on safety and savings

Price breakdown

Joven JH25 RM550
Joven JH35 RM660
Installation RM150

Total RM700/810

Hydro1 Eco RM800
Installation RM300-400
Total RM1100-1200

However the price points are too far off.
Not sure if it is worth it to top up at least RM400 for Hydro1.
Are their claims of both the safety and savings really hold any water?

Hey guys, sorry for out of topic.
I have a Panasonic water heater with push on/off lever installed.
Recently there are water leaking/dripping out from the shower head when the push lever was turned off.

If I turned off the faucet on the wall, the water stopped dripping. So it seemed like the push lever is starting to malfunction.

Do you guys know this can be repaired? I asked the service center as well as few plumbers, all suggesting changing a new unit.

Thanks.

valve broken but can purchase through panasonic spare part but you need to open up the unit to identify the part number then can go to PJ service center to purchase.

I have seen people comment before that the Panasonic push stop button will become longgar after a while. Even after push to stop got some water continue to leak through. I think it's part of wear and year probably. So best to avoid using this button often if possible.

From their website, it seems that Hydro1 is only "saving" because it is using a smaller 1.5KW heater. If using a small capacity heater, it will need to run a longer time to heat up the water. In the end the power consumption will be the same.

For example, if using 3kW, you'll run 1 hr. But if using 1.5kW, you'll need to run 2 hr. The end result is still the same, 3kWh.

There's also some water heater that says it is using DC heating element to heat up the water and also energy saving. But it doesn't save more compared to conventional electric heater. AC or DC, the power consumption will be the same regardless of the voltage as the heating energy required to heat water is fixed.

For information, to heat up 30 litres water by 25degC, will need about 0.87 kWh of heat. As long as it is heating element type, it will need to use 0.87 kWh power input.
