Those of you wish to install storage heater, I would suggest you have to think twice before buying Joven product. I have used Joven before and was long lasting but I am not sure now.

Purchase a 35L JH35HE On Oct 2015.
Heating element died and replaced on Jan 2019 (Died around 3.3 years)

Then same element died and replaced on Jul 2019 (died 6 months)

In March 2020, the same element died again (died 8 months).

Now changing to another brand.

agreed with you, my first joven water heater with pump died less than 3 years time,
then bought the same model again to replace. yet died in less than 2 years time.
been using panasonic for 5 years, currently just had an issue with the temperature too hot.

my toshiba water heater heating element tank bursted.
it is made out of plastic.
The technician said it is due to my water pump pressure too high and burst the plastic.

may i know which other instant water heater model's heating element tank is made of metal instead of plastic?

Firstly is your Instant Water Heater come with internal pump ?

2nd, is your incoming water pressure super high ?

It is not easy to have element tank burst in normal operation wink.gif

OR may be it is tank  leaking with crack line ?
rdgs.

no, without internal pump.

yes, incoming water pressure high.. but not until super high..

i had 2 unit of same model, one is burst and another one is fine.

Most welcome biggrin.gif
You mean this one? http://toshiba.com.my/waterheater/dsk38s5mw.html#tab
Max inlet pressure 0.3MPa = 3bar

mine without pump...

no idea how much the pressure my pump pumping... never measure...
however will close the inlet valve and only open it during shower.

at the end, any water heater can resist high pressure?

If your water pressure is that high that it can cause the tank to burst, then this Toshiba 3800W heating element should not be hot enough for u.

Higher water pressure = faster water flow = shorter contact time between heating element and your incoming water = lesser temperature rise between inlet and outlet

For high water pressure household, better to use storage water heater, but also try not to go above 5 bars. If u don't want to use those that is installed above the ceiling, CENTON has one model called Nautilus Series that is meant to be installed below ceiling, with a smaller 20 litre capacity.

thanks for the idea

In fact, the heating is sufficient from the instant heater. it is hot enough.

I understand your statement regarding the water flow speed vs the power to heat up the water.

Cheapest in the market should be those made in China ones, such as HAIER (Shopee link here) followed by TOSHIBA (Shopee link here). Heard from salesperson, apparently HAIER might be selling every unit at a lost (selling price below cost price) to try kill the existing water heater brands in Malaysia, so might want to be careful of its quality.

If u prefer made in Malaysia, cheapest is CENTON (Shopee link here), not as cheap as the above China brands, but it has the highest number of 5 star reviews on Shopee.
