Hello everyone, I saw a company name 'Centurion Marketing Group' recruiting management trainee so i called them up and told me that they will call me back asap after they inform the recruiting manager.

Surprisingly they did, and asked me go interview tomorow. But I was taken back because I did not send my resume and could not find their company website beside facebook. And I saw here this post saying companies with 'marketing group' is a scam. And I saw another website link mentioning Centurion company is a total scam as well.

And tomorow is 31st December, ask me go interview @.@
Mostly Im not going, but I would like to take advise frm you all first smile.gif

Hello there, recently I noticed an ad regarding American Cruise in The Star newspaper's job section.

As you can see in the photo below, it offers RM5000+. sounds really nice on the surface. I have tried searching the internet for cruise job scams and I have found "American Cruise Ship Corporation".
The link is here>> Cruise Ship Job Scams

And so I decided to give this Mr John a call. He speaks decent English, and I know he's a local Chinese guy based on the way he speaks (Malaysian English we know it). I introduced myself as Jonathan, I only gave him my Christian name. Then I mentioned the ad in the newspaper and I need some enquiries. He asked for my age and my qualification, and so I told him that. After that he asked me whether I can travel and I said yes. He told me this cruise travels to US and Europe.

The funny thing is, he told me this company is new and there are a lot of positions. I'm really skeptical when I asked him for his email, the cruise's website and also his phone number. He told me he has them REPEATEDLY without even sharing out his or the company's details, not even the phone number. He insists on meeting up in his office at Masjid Jamek so he can show the stuffs, I don't know what stuffs he wants to show.

If it's an American Cruise, why is a Chinese dude representing this company? Shouldn't it be a Caucasian? And why recruit Malaysians? If it's legitimate, wow! I really want this job, RM5000 minimum for a college fresh graduate.

Scam or not a scam? Any feedback would be tremendously appreciated. smile.gif

If the offer is too good to be true, then it is a scam. If it is legitimate, then the so-called Mr.John should have posted the vacancy on job sites instead. I wonder how does The Star vets the job ads in their department. shakehead.gif

They will never stop recruiting since their employee won't last long. That includes me. In just 2 weeks, 3 people gone. Hate it that I've been tricked by these kind of companies.

Hi, I have found an interesting article on LinkedIn in regards to job scams. It's good to know what are the lies employers love to use to trick potential employees. Here are the seven lies which employers use:

1.There's a lot of opportunity for advancement.

2.The bonus structure will double your income.

3.Your territory is protected and we won't change it.

4.You'll get extensive training.

5.You'll have scheduling flexibility and can work from home on occasion.

6.We'll hire you some help when it gets busy.

7.Once you fix this problem/department/project, etc., you'll get to work on something new and exciting.

Personally, I would avoid high paying but simple job ... Just like the data entry job ... Besides, any job that requires me to pay them instead of them paying me, smells fishy and you ought to be more careful smile.gif

*I believe some jobs on the newspaper have the potential to be fraud as most of the time, newspaper just act as a middle person for advertisement smile.gif

especially those need u pay for their material.

To claim or not to claim.

hello, i have not much of job experiences but lately i just joined a new company. a very small company. Salary about 1.3k.
And i asked my manager about sick leave claim, she told me that she didn't bought any insurance to cover workers..
so he cannot claim sick leave for me. is that possible?
I'm still on my 3months probation and i know that in 3months cant claim but after my probation is it worth?
i dont have any benefits in that company after all, if she cant let me claim my mc leave.

please help, i need to know the answer
Ps*sorry if i post at the wrong section, just scare to create a new topic. Cheers!

just leave the company until the probation done...not worth to stay at the cmpany that cannot cover for your medical...
plus you said that the cmpany did not give you any benefits...including epf, bonus also didnt get? doh.gif

Hi anyone heard of Just Mobile Sdn Bhd which located in Fraser Business Park, Kuala Lumpur.
I would like to share the worst working experiences that all of our staffs had in that company,

Terrible CEO attitude towards clients and staff
Extremely high turnover
Bad office environment
Unable to hire local employee due to bad reputation and hired a lot of foreign works
Many delayed projects
Poor and not systematic management
No SOP to follow, depends on CEO's mood

Please share with us ur thoughts if you guys are the former or existing employees.
We have to share this info out to everyone so that they will not fall into this kind of shi*ty company anymore.
