eii..everyone..wanna ask something..i fed bobo the heartgard plus tablet last 2 days..i think she hardly can digest it coz the tablet is abit hard..i fed her at noon..when reach nite she suddenly vomitted. i saw the thing she vomit was the tablet..any1 faced tis b4? wats the best way to feed her the tablet? i was thinking to cut it into small pieces n mix wit her food. pls advice~ thanks

soak it into milk or water den feed her?

my pup has the same problem .. the only thing i did was wait till few days later, then only i tear the heartgard into a few pieces and feed to him.. he didnt vomit anything out, but alot of watery poo the next day... after i cleaned those up, nothing lio...

means i hav to feed her again?

I din buy heartguard, but i get the Heartsaver, not chewable, only tablet. Cheaper and got 7 tablet. For me its ok lah, save money mah............
I fed FIFI the tablet this Monday, just stuck it into her throat and close her mouth, wala..........

but she vomitted at nite wor..after so many hours eating the tablet..i tot shud b absorbed some of it d gua..stil need to feed again ar? wil b overdose onot?

Feed her again. I also do not buy heartguard... coz expensive and with 3 dogs.... the expense is higher. I get other brands which are in tablet form. When in tablet form, it is easier for the dog to adsorb into the body since small pill, it won't harm the tummy or digestive system. There are also pill syringes for sale, which makes giving the pill easier. Heartguard cannot use the pill syringe, only tablets can.

when eating heartguard still hv 2 take deworming syrup?

if bobo is 5 months, you better take bobo to vet for a heart worm test when she's 6 months old.. if the vet said that bobo has no heartworm, then you can start feeding her with heartgard(monthly) or heartworm injection(yearly)...

if bobo is infected by heartworm and you start feeding her with heartgard now also wont kill the worms inside her body also.. it's advisable to have a test first then only start to feed her.. if got worm ,then can start treatment for the worms first.

is it a must to feed thsoe tablets thingy?? If yes, wud kinda tablets?? I didn't buy any medicines or tablets for Hepy wor.

It is a must. If don't take, a dog can die a painful death. This heartworm is carried by parasites....

The Heartsaver tablet i bought from the vet one, if not mistaken is around Rm50 for 7 tablet, cheaper than Heartgard leh......The tablet is importeed from Korea one.

According to the vet, the pill need to be taken each month.
But after studying the life span of the young heartworm, i notice that the tablet can be taken every 2 months leh......like this can ah?
Or to be on safe side, when the puppy is 4 months old, directly take tablet for half a year. Then once every 2 months ok??

Dun understand. What do you mean by die a painful death?? Then what kinda tablet you buy? Can get from Pets Family or Pets Safari?

Heartworm is a parasite.... normally it is passed through ticks and mosquitos(I think, doing this out of memory).... So the eggs will hatch and then the little worms will live and start to eat the heart.... normally it will go unnoticed since the dog won't show signs and you can only know if the dog got heartworm if do a heartworm test...

The heart gets eaten away till the dog dies of heart failure. My dogs died from heart failure that were caused by old age and genetics... see my dogs like that, really suffering and the dogs were always in pain. Heartworm can be treated with surgery if the worms are hard to kill with drugs.
