hahaha... rectified already. had some problems fitting it in earlier that in my overzealous attempt, sikit bengkok. but no worries, it's soft plastic and rectifiable.

i personally don't fancy the stealth jets. dull colour schemes regardless of squadron. kinda like change a few alphabets and numbers here and there and voila! it's a different squadron altogether. still prefer the teen series...

QUOTE(AEROZ @ Aug 14 2014, 08:18 PM) This is how I air-brushed my aircraft: aeroz, i was thinking of using the panel line accent (grey) to enhance the panel lines of my diecast... but not sure whether the enamel thinner will react with the paint. any idea?Primer (Mr. Surfacer 1000) --> Mr. Color lacquer paint --> Tamiya panel line accent black (enamel paint) --> wipe-off excess enamel paint --> top coat with Mr. Color Lacquer gloss clear paint. The enamel thinner will only wipe-off the enamel paint & not the lacquer paint underneath it. However lacquer thinner can wipe-off both enamel & lacquer paints! This will probably be my 1st & last aircraft build. Hard to find time for hobby due to work commitment. |

QUOTE(AEROZ @ Aug 15 2014, 09:29 AM) Hi WingNut, I've no idea of what paint that the diecast model used. So probably you've to take the risk or ask other forummers here. Don't wish to spoil your model kits. Alternatively is to use gundam marker used for panel lining. You can google for that. thanks, aeroz! the gundam marker looks more promising for a klutz such as i dunno whether i will ever get around to actually doing it as i don't have the skills nor the patience, and wouldn't want to end up with a half-painted model! and also am at odds as to which model is going to end up as my lab rat |

QUOTE(AEROZ @ Aug 15 2014, 12:25 PM) 5B pencil would create inconsistent line width. ribuan terima kasih! now to get myself that marker and find myself a lab rat... Mr. Hobby mechanical pencil will be a better choice (which I've used for my gundam too). ![]() Other types of gundam marker (can erase using eraser/alcohol/thinner): ![]() Or used water based Mr. Color (can thin & wipe-off using water instead of thinner): ![]() Panel line tutorial: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/488910 |

QUOTE(strikermac @ Aug 16 2014, 04:03 PM) Hard to say it out... err... I juz order the same brand same plane... no need sweat first ya. at first glance it looks awesome. it only reveals its paintwork flaws upon closer inspection... uneven layers on the missiles, unrefined canopy lining, incomplete painting at the exhaust etc. if you had the skills to touch-up this model, it'll be excellent! it doesn't require panel lining enhancement though... otherwise i would've found my perfect lab rat. That mean... I gonna get the suck paint job of my FOV F-14A. |

QUOTE(strikermac @ Aug 16 2014, 05:29 PM) Is ok anyway, nvm. ya lor... me read many things about fov also but since i like f14s, i also order and tengok sendiri how their quality. my fov f15e and f/a18e should be arriving next week. kira one fov for each model cukuplah. cw's red rippers should be arriving next week also but what me really looking forward to is their vf103 santacat which is rumoured to be out in nov '14!Juz now I plan to change my order asap to FOV F-4J for try, but think about I didn't really love F-4J, So I give up still order this F-14A anyway. At least is my childhood favorite plane and have a 1st experience on FOV. |

QUOTE(blu3hamm3r @ Aug 20 2014, 08:23 AM) without doubt, there is a reason why century wings command such high prices as this model turned out to be near perfect for me (only some minor difficulty in attaching the sidewinders but nothing a bit of sandpapering couldn't remedy). in all honesty, my witty wing's vf103 jolly rogers came pretty close to being near perfect too but the detailing on this model is awesome. i think if you just looked at witty wings, they're awesome on their own... but placed side by side with a century wings, only then will its deficiencies appear, subtle as it may be. and yes, there's that perennial "problem" with witty wings... the landing gear comes in multiple parts |

QUOTE(blu3hamm3r @ Aug 20 2014, 11:17 PM) Tat's y i hardly collect WW F-14. The detail and quality still no one can beat CW. Part of my SR71 and F14. comrade blu3hamm3r... if there's one word to describe your collection, it would be "awesome"! while it may be true with regard to detail and quality, witty does have a far more extensive selection than century. and they also have my next favorite line of fighter jets... the f/a-18e/f super hornets. but my eyes are always on century's latest releases (past releases have become ridiculously overpriced, imho).![]() ![]() ![]() |
