i think witty wing's finishing is smoother than the fov... but fov has the upperhand in terms of value for money and ease of assembly (ww f/a18s have this tiny part to fix at the rear landing gear and i finally mastered it after my sixth model! tiny bit-> wheels-> covers... that's the sequence to prevent the small bit from coming loose during the assembly). i got mine from this website: http://www.lacorun.com/en/product/item/295...uct_detail.html

it's a hong kong distributor and the fov f/a18 was (and still is) on sale.

myhobbyhouse selection pretty limited. toypanic is the best local (penang) site when it comes to a wider selection, especially hobby master and century wings. i notice fewer and fewer local stores are having witty wings stock so i get my wittys mostly from lacorun (hkg). the other notable local sellers are diecast empire and fly high military. the rarer models, no choice, gotto hunt them down on ebay...or stalk collectors' forums and hope somebody decides to let go of theirs.

imho adilniaga is way overpriced. most of the rare items can be gotten over ebay cheaper than adilniaga even after you factor in the shipping cost.

it's not closing down... it's already in receivership. i think the eurofighter was their swansong model. so whatever witty models you wanna get, better get them soon before they become extinct.

ya... different collectors different preference. comrade deathsoul prefers different models, i prefer different squadron paint schemes with my primary collection being f-14 tomcats and f/a-18e/f super hornets. f-15s and f-16s too, to a lesser extent. once in a while a particular paint scheme may attract me, or a particular theme... like aerobatic teams. i don't have more than one of the stealth fighters (f-22s and f-35s) coz their paintwork is almost always just a different shade of grey. collecting every single one of them is almost impossible... unless your nick is blu3hamm3r. hehe...

not really... there's only a 1m difference in length between the f/a18e/f and the large f14. it's the width difference that's quite substantial... 6m. i think perhaps you had the legacy hornet (f/a18a-d) in mind... it's 1m shorter than the super hornet. or perhaps you were referring to the f16? it's 4m shorter than the f14... (in terms of 1/72 scale, that translates to approx. 1.4cm difference for every metre)

yups... the witty has some tricky tiny pieces especially for the f/a18 and the mig29s. that said, hobby master doesn't have super hornets...

damn... couldn't resist.

yups... had some time on my hands today so decided to go over to allscript's office. dropped by myhobby house on the way back not expecting much but i saw this bird. couldn't resist. they also have the f16 stormo... but i already ordered that from toypanic. looks like mhh has started stocking up on hm's now.

haha... better buy two! next time hm price same as cw then can sell the reserved one at twice the price then consider your collection is foc.

jdk, is not "just buy as you like". gotto consider what models give you the most satisfaction... most bang for your bucks, so to speak. kinda like considering whether you would rather have one cw or two ww tomcats for the same price...

imho witty does perfectly acceptable f-15s at 2/3s the price of hm. if cost is an issue, i honestly think you'll get equal satisfaction from a witty f-15 as you would a hm.

it's impossible to have 'em all... unless your nick's blu3hamm3r
