Don't wait for the snail mail to reach because online bill is the accurate one. Also you are not getting the snail mail because the person/dealer who applied for you may have opt for online/email bill rather than paper bill. Technically not TM's fault the paper bill does get send to you as you can check online at which is your own responsibility.

ok just finished installation... now few questions

1) it seems the wifi not strong enuff to reach my room from the TV area... any help on how to boost it?

2) the old stimix and phone lines, how long till they cut it off?

1) might add new access point / booster ..

Lol... It's up to you to worry that you will "spend" up all your quota. I'm on VIP5, 8 users in the house. In past 30 days, ME ALONE, rate recorded by Bandwidth Monitor, shows that I downloaded 76GB and uploaded 13GB. From first day of the month till now I used 33GB (1/11~11/11). Don't worry la. Even if they implemented, at most you suffer half month slow internet la. Won't make you die pun. Some more there's no extra charge when you exceed the quota. Not like Maxis Broadband/other telcos...

Why la scare... Don't understand. Use while you still can't. You still got no limit now. When got limit don't come here say you hate TM say you never enjoy UniFi at all then start capping.

1) Get a better router. Read www.klseet.com for replacement. Even if the router you bought still cannot give you enough signal strength, you can use them as repeater at certain point in between your current router(TM DIR615/TMRND) so that your PC can still receive the signal. *At least TP-Link model got such function. Not sure about other brands one though (called WDS in TP-Link)*

2) I've not gone through this but few forumers here reported that they HOPED tm will terminate for them but end up TM is not processing the termination. One of them still got Lawyer's letter giving them a deadline to clear up their late payment(means account not terminated). To be safe, take some time to make everything "crystal clear" at TM Point.

Because, even if your adapter helps u detect the network, based on user reviews over here, TM default router doesn't perform well and really really no feature to play with. Maybe yours is doing good. Anyway, get a router will be my suggestion. Those router, as long as can be flashed with DDWRT, is possible to be setup as a repeater that CAPTURE the signal of another router and REBROADCAST them, increasing the range.

ah i see.. well, anyways i need to get a USB wifi adapter for my PC also. my old stimix modem right by my PC, now at the TV downstairs.. susah sial...

Ill try with the Usb adapter with antenna first, if that fails, then maybe that TP Link sub 100 router which can replace TM's one, worst comes to worst.. move the whole setup closer to my room

I remember that one is quite expensive right. The one with external antenna. TP-Link 841ND is just RM79. Basic Wireless N 150M TP-Link usb adapter around RM23. I bought both at same time for RM100 (discount RM2. LOL...) See how it goes la... Just my suggestion. That whole setup not so easy to move. Becareful when you want to relocate. Your house very very big isit???

Hi Guys, In midst of renovating house now.
At the stage of house wiring and concealing cable now.
I had this idea and wonder if it works.

1. I plan to locate the BTU and the RG in the middle of my house on the ground floor so wireless signal can spread from the center of ground floor (through coverage).
- Plan to pull the FTB to BTU wire over the ceiling (plaster ceiling) so leave the plaster ceiling uncovered until the wire installed over above the plaster ceiling. After the ceiling leave a "longkang" to the BTU location area which I will conceal myself after instillation. Can ah? Kena charged ah?

2. My friend told me that RG wire to STB, DECT phone and wired PC are all the same CAT 5 type. My TV will be located at the corner edge of the ground floor.
- Plan to prepare 4 pcs CAT 6 concealed wire and plug from the middle of the ground floor where the BTU and RG is located to
1. corner edge of the ground floor where I plan to put the STB near the TV.
2. another corner of the ground floor where I plan to put a wired PC
3. up to 1st floor where I plan to put another wireless router.
4. up to my alarm system.
Can work ah?

All this is to take advantage of my renovation that is currently being done so as to avoid exposed wire lines.

Quick question.. i cant seem to port forward 9987.. its for Teamspeak 3 server. Anyone face similiar problems?

DECT use RJ11, not RJ45 (but I googled, even though overkill but seems like someone use cat5 for phone, unusual thing I would say) and I don't think your alarm system use RJ45 instead of RJ11 too. Just normal telephone cable. Just make sure that the distance from FTB to BTU don't exceed 15m. Else, they charge. Before that, you sure where will the fibre comes from? From the back or from the front? From pole or manhole? Your cable also must test seriously before concealing. Later big trouble to fix them.
