hopefully so

there is not much settings tat i can do as all are auto select, even the APN is auto registered as unet

i actually tested UMG1831 this afternoon b4 buying this, tat time the signal on the UMG1831 was -91dBm and i can clock speed of 5.xxMbps at about 2pm. I eventually bot this due to its Brand name. I din even test it and just buy thinking it would surpassed the UMG1831 as this modem's antenna utilise RX Diversity

Specifications

u should totally test both before decide, dont let the brand fool you,.. sometimes i feel like ZTE modem is better than huawei too

well looks like u should get HSPA+ UMG1831 instead of this HSPA option icon,.

as HSPA + & HSPA built in antenna is different though,.

seems like even is higher rates data as HSPA dual band option icon 505 modem, performances is like E1762 with a little better PING only ? speedwise seems no different,.

but u need to try all solution for this option icon 505 modem, like move it around, try it at different places with different times during day or nite, try with enhancement, and so on,..

since u buying from someone u know, why not u try to ask him for changes ? changes this to UMG1831 instead ? any chances in this changes ? hmm.gif hmm.gif

Added on December 1, 2011, 1:13 ami think for me nokia x3-02 is still the best device i can count on to get good speed and Lower PING,..

wow very nice speed,.

which device u clock this speed with Digilife ? is option icon 505 ? steady upload & DL & PING,..

Added on December 1, 2011, 4:54 amfinally i clock a nice PING,. Nokia X3-02 really can help out,. amazing, just plug it in pc and open MDMA to look for best signal spot, then u are good to go to clock best speed.

user posted image

i have tested around 75 speedtest with almost 15 set of ip adress,. and realise that Upload speed is not the main thing to help getting lower PING. ip adress playing a very important role on how low you get on your PING. have discover certain ip adress is amazing which i marked 5 star in speedtest.net. it is like what KKW mention is previous version maxis 3G thread before,. certain IP adress really can get u super low PING like what i posted 34ms.. and most ip address getting normal 50~75ms,.. and some bad ip get you 75~120ms even. is not what device we used or what signal RSSI we get.. as my nokia x3-02 only support 2Mbps upload speed and max only can clocked 1~1.29Mbps UL and my nokia phone only can get best signal around RSSI: -75dBm. ( shocked me for sure to see is huge different compare with my SE W705 ( RSSI: -51dBm / FULL signal )

p/s: just now i have all the result and was about to posted it but my stupid PC crashed suddenly and i forget to save those speedtest result doh.gif will post result next time when i able to get those IP address again.

seems like option icon 505 is still better than your E1762,. the result showing u can clock almost double DL speed , and lower ping compare with your E1762,.. hmm.gif hmm.gif

the Aztech HW550 3G router can support your option icon 505. u try it out yet ? might get better,.. hmm.gif

i dun hav a Hw550 to try as i ady sold to my fren

maybe i should borrow back to try , but i strongly believe icon505 is compatible as shown in the list send by you, whereas MR3420 din shows icon505 in its list

is UM1831 in Hw550 and Mr3420 compatible list?

i tested UMG1831 and it did clocked good speed (5.2Mbps) on RSSI of -97dBm, wat more if the RSSI is -70dBm drool.gif

LOL, of course we do sleep fruitie, ha ha

yea,.. i think with correct router, the UMG1831 & icon 505 sure will fly high,.. as i recall my TL-MR3420 does support UMG1831 ( just that i can't get it to log on HSPA or HSPA+ network as it suck with 3G only.. )

sure u get hell a lot higher speed with -70dBm ,..
