I already have no strength to answer this question... this seems to be "THE MOST FAQ" in mouse and keyboards....
I think mod cyclone can add this in the first post... There is no such thing as Gaming Grade mechanical keyboard.....

For Gaming Grade Mechanical Keyboard, i don't think they are actually existed, since they are all marketing gimmicks. if you see membrane keyboard, alot of them claiming to be gaming grade keyboard, but it's only offering different design about it's "Ergonomic Design Keyboard" with good bling bling, while it doesn't offers or improve your gaming ability.

For Me, the only thing that's worth buying membrane keyboard for, are the Macro Function. but currently now, i got mouse to replace all the macro requirement, and i do not require macros on Keyboard anymore.(Well, i gonna built/mod a keyboard with chameleon keyboard controller.

For Mechanical Keyboard, they are more responsive than membrane keyboard if you wished to know, because the switch gets detected when you press the switch half way,(2mm to gets key press detected, 4mm to bottom the key)
This might be sounds pretty unimportant towards users that are still using membrane keyboard, but you can ask users around here about it.

Gaming keyboard has all the extra keys and a very good software to use them.

That doesn't make them a "gaming" keyboard -.- its just a keyboard with extra macro keys and softwares created by them are purely gimmick -.- furthermore macro keys are banned in competition, and yet they still claims the macro keys help the pro gaming team in competition blablabla, its purely gimmick, wake up son.

There's always Autohotkey for all your macros needs.

ton of keyboard out there used gaming name without software, that why we no call it gaming keyboard but keyboard with how many extra feature you need. back light, macro key , audio USB port, design, and kro.

Agreed, maybe alot people has never realize, Macro are banned in most gaming tournament (thou i cannot confirm they are banned in MMORPG tournament like WoW, or RO. i mean MMORPG, not MMOFPS )

They are only for convenience for auto buffers as well as doing some repetitive stuff for you, but they are not allowed to use in tournament.

And you have to remember one thing, all we depended on gaming are muscle memory, which you'll respond more faster as you play the game more. Pro gamers uses Muscle Memory, Not Macro.

Let's says you have a keyboard that has alot of extra keys, i mean, Do you actually use them? Every and each keyboard has their own design and key placement, once you get used to it like 1, 2 years, once the product gets discontinue, all your extra key knowledge will be render useless, as Keyboard always has new release and the Macro Key will be always be in different position.

Keyboard Macros are nice only if you use them to do some ridiculous repetitive stuff(something like MMORPG where you play priest applying buff to teammate).

As a reminder always, A macro is to make you more convenient, but they are not dependable.

IMHO, actually if can try use the mouse or keyboard without software, because with that, would have less problem or issues arise from the compatibility..... plus, no software, no software crashes....

doesnt anyone mention the magic word - RELIABILITY?
ppl dont want a keyboard that will get stuck while they are trying to do double jumps etc.
ppl want a keyboard that does what its supposed to do, when its supposed to do.
one of the worse keyboards i ever tried, was some cheap generic samsung / everglide one which some CC had.
press a key, and it only detected like 1/2sec later.

AFAIK, Blizzcon WoW tournament official banned macro keys and even the usage of add ons.
Even the Razer Naga MMO mouse that has a lot of buttons on left side for your thumbs to press also isn't allowed as well.

Oh you wanna talk about reliability, those keyboard that stated gaming i won't suggest people to go for it, most of the time i use confirm will hear the CPU making noises because i press a lot of keys together at once most of the time.

If you want a true working keyboard, you won't go wrong with a NKRO keyboard that most "gaming" keyboard doesn't offer.

Hello, Everdying, welcome to mechanical keyboard thread, i believe is it the first time you posted in here? erm.. maybe i already forgotten.
I believe most users here has already know that the price you paying for are the durability as well as reliability of the keyboard.

Mechanical keyboard, Cherry MX Switch, Each key has it's own specific steel springs, which will not stuck while in the process of double-jump/repeated press.(if what you mean is the switch stay at bottom and does not comes back up after pressed which mostly happens in membrane keyboard)
If you did see 1st post about how the Cherry MX Switch move/function while being press, i think you will get what i mean.

For pressing a key and only be detected like 1/2 second later. There are 2 possible problems in 2 area, either a bad keyboard controller, or pin has dust clog up which causing the connection of 2 pin and membrane to not work properly(please refer to Post 1, Membrane Keyboard Gif moveable switch picture).

A Keyboard that has NKRO features, i don't think they will suffer delay detection, those Keyboard controller are designed to handle all the keypress to be registered instantly. i'll have a hard time believe they actually have 1/2 second delay, unless the keyboard controller is faulty.

actually, the clicky types like blues are not suited to quick double jumps etc.

Sorry i play SC2 which might leads to pressing a lot of keys together when thing gets hype up.
And no, o2jam is a game, a music game to be exact.

Cherry blue switches isn't really a recommended key when it comes to multiple tapping requires in certain game, and yes its a fact, i've done that and i can felt a little bit stuck when double tapping too fast.

Yes, i have to agree on that.

But some users even use them to double jump, even we said "Not Suited for quick Double Jump", Those gamers still using it to double jump, well.. it's not causing any troubles anyway. I have already pointed out in the first post that Blue are not suitable for gaming anyway.

In the end, it is still depends on user's choice and preference. We could only suggest what's good for the usage.(typist or gamer)

not to say it cannot double jump.
but it feels funny, like the 2nd press has a slight delay.
sadly there wont be any Unreal tournament 4 in any future.
