dunno what u all going on about, but why u all running around in circles and not answering the question?
doesnt anyone mention the magic word - RELIABILITY?
ppl dont want a keyboard that will get stuck while they are trying to do double jumps etc.
ppl want a keyboard that does what its supposed to do, when its supposed to do.
one of the worse keyboards i ever tried, was some cheap generic samsung / everglide one which some CC had.
press a key, and it only detected like 1/2sec later.

AFAIK, Blizzcon WoW tournament official banned macro keys and even the usage of add ons.
Even the Razer Naga MMO mouse that has a lot of buttons on left side for your thumbs to press also isn't allowed as well.
Oh you wanna talk about reliability, those keyboard that stated gaming i won't suggest people to go for it, most of the time i use confirm will hear the CPU making noises because i press a lot of keys together at once most of the time.

If you want a true working keyboard, you won't go wrong with a NKRO keyboard that most "gaming" keyboard doesn't offer.

reliable != NKRO.
o2jam isnt a game anyway tongue.gif
but pros, and u will still find them, have been using good membrane keyboards for years.

Hello, Everdying, welcome to mechanical keyboard thread, i believe is it the first time you posted in here? erm.. maybe i already forgotten.
I believe most users here has already know that the price you paying for are the durability as well as reliability of the keyboard.

Mechanical keyboard, Cherry MX Switch, Each key has it's own specific steel springs, which will not stuck while in the process of double-jump/repeated press.(if what you mean is the switch stay at bottom and does not comes back up after pressed which mostly happens in membrane keyboard)
If you did see 1st post about how the Cherry MX Switch move/function while being press, i think you will get what i mean.

For pressing a key and only be detected like 1/2 second later. There are 2 possible problems in 2 area, either a bad keyboard controller, or pin has dust clog up which causing the connection of 2 pin and membrane to not work properly(please refer to Post 1, Membrane Keyboard Gif moveable switch picture).

actually, the clicky types like blues are not suited to quick double jumps etc.

not to say it cannot double jump.
but it feels funny, like the 2nd press has a slight delay.
sadly there wont be any Unreal tournament 4 in any future.

bw from the faq has 6kro.
its more optimized for the WASD area, which i'm sure u probably already know that from the geekhack tests, while the new bw stealth is supposed to offer proper 6kro.

for me, it is WASD, R , CTRL. i found out CTRL + R is very important to me, because i always crouch to reload in corner.

i cursed and toss my membrane keyboard few years back when i'm in a situation where i press hold CTRL + W + TAB and pressing R to reload and it did not register/work.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

CTRL?
thts like a weird choice of key for crouch, i set mine to caps lock.

my old saitek eclipse and everglide dktboards, both of which are obviously membranes, had no issues tho with pressing ctrl + w + a/d +arrow keys at the same time...keys that i use to fly jets tongue.gif

i find ctrl weird, unless ur using toggle.
guess thats why most games have crouch as C for default.
everytime i use ctrl, have to bend the pinky to hit it without losing control of W and A tongue.gif

I thought most FPS(CS, L4D and many more) are using Ctrl as default crouch? Jumping onto higher plaform in CS = crouch + jump.
*
ut2k4 has shift for crouch by default.
quake3 iirc is C, bf3 is X, cod is C.
i think that pretty much covers a few of the main FPS games in the last decade...
and for some like CS, TF2 or crysis, quite a few ppl actually rebind crouch to like F / C / V / shift, basically anything nearer to the WASD.

i was so used to shift from ut, that i just carried over and binded it to other games, except for BF2 / BF3 which i move it higher and use caps lock as crouch.
then shift became my sprint / afterburners for jets etc tongue.gif

any body check out cmstorm quick rapid fire yet? looks quite familiar.. or is that the standard approach nowadays
*
tried it, the multimedia key layout is weird as its all on the right side of the keyboard.
so either u move ur left hand all the way over, or u take ur hand off the mouse to hit the keys.

the version with red cherry keys should be in market now, rm339...i'll probably try to get my hands on one of them next month.
