Guys, are those arcylic roofs really that good? I saw that the sides are open and wouldnt that still allows dusts to enter??? rclxub.gif
Plus, if it is just placed on the keyboard with it's sides on the keyboard... even with smooth edges, wouldnt it slide around and sometimes scratches your keyboard unless you put rubber feet on them? hmm.gif

Can someone provide evidence that can convince me that this is better than the stock cover from Filco and Leopold...

It's more of a personal taste kinda thing.
Rubber feet is needed for sure.
Dust still can get in, but it needs some 'cornering' to do that. The stock FILCO ones should go well what came with it.
I'm putting these on my Realforce and/or Poker since they did not come with dust covers.

Oh.... now i know....
Well, it is useful especially when your keyboard dont come with one cover of it's own.

Nope, not the new ones. The new ones are rubbish, IMO... Design/Made in China

I'm talking about the older ones such G80-3484(brown) and G80-3494(red) which are great keyboard with NKRO.
Sadly, they are not appreciated due to their looks.

I think the old Cherry G80 are very nice looking... even though most people complains about the far distance of the F- function row.... sweat.gif
QUOTE(Human10 @ Nov 8 2011, 01:36 AM)
China sites(Taobao) lots used 2nd hand mech kb.
Cheapest should be Ducky Alps. If Cherry MX, it will should be DUcky 1008.
*
PLU is also a good Cherry MX option on taobao...
If im not mistaken, PLU has boards with NKRO over usb... can ask lucidits to confirm since he has PLU boards laugh.gif

never tried the standard version before, so i'm not sure is it NKRO over PS/2. G3000 NKRO now is around (499 RMB + 20RMB shipping)/1.8 + RM32 shipping = RM320 something.
*
Oh... ok... hmm... lucidlts, saw your keyboard collections on your siggy...
Seems you are already a "veteren" in mech keyboard, and why you never tried Filco or Cherry? hmm.gif

LOL... no need so "humble" la... haha... laugh.gif
I see... Camo.... hmm.... not bad if used to play games... nod.gif

I prefer clean simple looks, as mainly i use my comp/notebook for watching my animes/movies rather than play games (I rarely game, now waiting impatiently for Diablo III) so i prefer less distraction laugh.gif laugh.gif

1. Buy normal FILCO
2. Buy/paint the Golden ''FILCO''(available from the 1st gen of FILCO Majestouch)
3. Buy the yellow keycaps from KBC
4. FILCO LIMITED YELLOW EDITION, PROFIT? hmm.gif
*
1. Contradicts with 2
2. No more golden "FILCO" sign as Majestouch 1 are already being phased out by Majestouch 2...
3. The yellow keycaps are ABS... KBC are PBT
4. The LED part is also YELLOW... Profit? I think not quite.... unless you are so hardcore to even mod the LED section yourself....

My white keycaps has white LED too...is it the color is based on the keycaps or is it coincidence??  hmm.gif
*
I think it all depends on Filco's mood... because not all keycaps/keyboard casing is matched with the LED...
For instant, the Majestouch Italian Red the LED is white, where as the Ninja Italian Red LED is blue (what a turn off) and the lock legends are still there despite being a Ninja....

2. i don't think gold and yellow would have too much difference.

3. The Yellow keycaps are ABS, and all we know that, KBC does provide ABS Keycaps and multicolor too, which is not only PBT, but ABS too, and in future POM as well!

4. For LED part, i guess that would have be based on user preference. for me, i do think yellow or white LED is kinda distracting to my eye, because they are too bright. But i can't comment about this model LED yet, because there are no one owns the model yet to give us the clear picture of this product.

But.. i don't think LED is hard to solder if you wanted to compare to switch soldering.
*
QUOTE(Human10 @ Nov 8 2011, 11:03 PM)
2. He is comparing the mj2 with mj1. MJ1 is gold label while MJ2 is chrome/silver label.

3. Yar, KBC do make both ABS and PBT. Also, KBC ABS is much cheaper than their PBT.

4.  Modding LED should be easy as just desolder 6(2x3) pins and resolder 6pins. The harder part will be sourcing LED with suitable voltage, current, resistance and most importantly the size.
*
Aiya... guys, what i want to stress out here is... We all know that Filco likes to introduce new "limited editions" with some aesthetic changes here and there.... as the mold is still the same.... And that they put more "effort" in this Yellow Limited Edition compared to other "limited editions" that basically just change the casing color and said this is a new limited edition...
At least this one is fully to the theme "yellow"....
sweat.gif

Edit: So far the real value limited editions from Filco where you can see some effort in them are the Aluminium series, Filco Majestouch Italian RED, Pink Majestouch 2 tenekeyless (the one with the lotus emblem and the twin heart keycap), Filco Camo and this one (at least i think it is....)

Ok. I don't have PS2 to USB convertor, but I do have a USB to PS2 convertor.
I've just tested to use it with the keyboard on my desktop. No luck, with a PS/2 convertor, it still doesn't work, not even on Windows.
Just to make sure the convertor is working, I tested the convertor with my chapalang USB keyboard, and it works. So the convertor is definitely working.
*
Hmm... this is kinda serious... even windows also not working....
How much you buy this Rapoo V7 keyboard???
