i hv some question,

every time i bring my cat to vet, the dr said that he is still underweight.

i wonder how to increase the weight of the cats. he is persian cross i think, based on what the dr said. he is 8months.his weight while 7months is 2.4kg.

we feed them both wet n dry food daily. but he prefer the wet food, the dry food is so called "stand by" food for him.

wet food--usually is snappy tom gourmet.
dry food-- b4 this, RC, but it seems ant is more interested with RC. so i change to SP, but i think SP kitten kibble is too large, is this the factor y my cat dun like to eat dry food?

please help.

i feed him wet food often, usually 7am, then 10am, then around 1pm, 5pm, 8pm and 10pm..usually a 2-4 big full table spoon each time, if i put a lot at 1 time, he will not finish it. as for dry food, it's always in his cage.

Feeding frequently is one of the way to fatten up your cat however you will need to determine the reason why he is not putting on weight. Firstly has your cat been dewormed? Worms inside the cats stomach will feed on the nutrients of the food therefore theynare getting fatnwhilst yourncat is not. Secondly your cat might have bad bacteria inside its digestive system and therefore cannot absorb all the nutrients from the good food that you are feeding. You can either syringe feed your cat with yoghurt that has live bacteria. Cats might not like it due to the sour taste then you can invest in a bottle of prebiotic which you can buy from guardian. Pop open the capsule and pour the contents into the wet food and mix it so that your cat will eat it. Do this daily for two weeks.

Food high in protein can help eg boiled chicken breast or egg yolk (no whites) mixed with wet food will put weight on him. Kitten food also helps.

Supplements to enhance appetite eg lysince will also increase its appetite.

Hope the above will help you icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanx 4 the advice. currently he is on SP kitten. He is dworm already. And every time went to vet to do vaccine, the dr gives extra 'ubat cacing'. As for the yogurt,is normal original yogurt fine for cat?

Hey, you guys know any pet shelter home near Puchong, Seri Kembangan or Dengkil area?
I picked up a stray cat and wanna send him to a nearby shelter home, but SPCA or PAWS are just too far for me.

*
Never ever put cats to SPCA or PAWS, they will put the cat to sleep after sometime if it is not adopted.

trolling? Cats are lactose intolerant in general. You can give only cat milk. Some cats can't even tolerate goat milk.

Gaining muscle =/= gaining fat. Feeding cats in premium food is one of the best way to gain weight. Choose better kibbles and try to steam chicken meat for the cat. Also as mentioned previously, deworm and better do a full blood test on the cat. It might have kidney/etc problem.

Visit a shelter, play with the cats there. Do note that some cat's personality might change after settling down with you. xD A cat of mine used to be like w/e on everything when with the previous owner, but after got adopted by me, he become supppperrrrrrr manja. XD
