hi..

can someone tell me how much if i want to neuter my female cat? this is my 1st time to neuter the female....

please help~
*
For female cat, usually range around RM80~RM160. Depending on your location. I'd strongly advice not to go for government or SPCA spaying. You don't want them to screw u your beloved cat, especially when female cats need to be cut at the stomach area and stitch it back. Some of these cheaper service don't do their job properly.

thnx for the link...if not i'll be end up at picc with no cat show to be seen...hehehe

i'm hoping that there will be booths that will be selling cat stuffs...mayb wanna buy pet carrier, cat food n some other stuff too
*
They don't usually sell big stuff like pet carrier, but there will be booth that will sell some cat toy or kibbles.

my cats' breath stinks =.=
anyone here brushes their cat's teeth?
*
I use a microfiber cloth to rub my cat's teeth weekly. They wont let me brush their teeth with a toothbrush.
If there is no tartar, it might be kidney problem or simply just because his digest system is not healthy enough. Can try oxyfresh pet deoderizer, mix into drinking water.

i find it hard to believe that those things can help. judging by the ingredients, it's not that different from normal kibble blink.gif

oh what the heck, i'll just try a bag and see
*
Difference is the size of the kibble. It encourage cats to chew on it and so call the chewing motion on the kibbles will help in removing tartar. ~_~

cos he goes by different names in adpost:

ABDUL HAFIZ
Linsha Benneth
Ismail Faizal

his ads are on bengals
*
If you're planning to get a breeded cat, please visit your nearby cat show and speak to the breeder in the show itself. A certified FIFE cat (Bengals are not considered as pedigree for CFA yet) is what you should look for. It's not exactly about being "pure breed" or not, this is to ensure that the cat that you buy is free from any inherited disease as you don't know what their parents had.

hi there..sory miss ur post..too bad i juz adopt a kitten yesterday...

my little girl lilo the DLH kitten n i juz adopted the siamese cat dat my wife obviously named him stitch..hehe..but i suspect the kitten to be a female kitten as i can see sumthing like nipples under the kitten..will check with the vet when i bring stitch for 2nd vaccin..

as u all can see..the kitten's right ear is a bit 'koyak' n do u guys recommend it to be sewn@stitched...can it be done?...or juz let it be like dat...

overall i have 2 very different personality kitten right now...lilo seems very lazy, like to eat a lot n walk very slow while stitch is a very playful kitten dat like to be touch n love to run here n there...

juz can't wait to be back home to play with them..hehe
*
Cat's ear heal real fast, I don't think anything need to be done to the ear. All cats have nipple, you have to look at their genitals to differentiate female and male. For kitten at this age, you should be able to determine. See: http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/cliented/kittengender.aspx

carefull in adpost...some of it are fake or scam...i prefer contact by phone not email for classified shopping.lemme guess, the ad said bengal or savanah for adoption?
*
Savanah are not legal yet to be kept in M'sia as it's considered wild animal. The moment you heard Savanah to be sold locally, it's a con.

another one that i found also a conman goes with email 'mohammedahmed1953@hotmail.com'....they are using the same method to con people i think..better be careful guys..
*
Impossible to have it shipped from Sabah and cost only RM300. Microchip, carrier, vaccination, flight ticket also more than 300 edi.

QUOTE(qaf1010 @ Dec 20 2011, 10:50 AM)
hi all.. a silly question here.. is it okay to give my DSH kittens RC Kitten Persian 32? I normally give them either RC Kitten 36 or Blackwood kitten but someone recommended me to give RC 32.. Any comments?
*
Persian food are designed to suit their lifestyle and encourage fur growth. I don't think you should feed your cat rc32. rc36 is good enough. If you're looking for a better range of food, try Innova Evo or Orijen. These are great grain-free kibbles. Aside that, you can supplement your cat with wet food or steamed chicken.

Guys, it's not hard to get a certified pedigree breed cat. Just visit any cat show and talk to the cat's owner, mostly breeder. They would love to tell you more about it and give you contacts if you're really interested in getting one. A reputable breeder would not stress their cat to give birth more than once or twice a year. You can trace back the cat's ancestor and look out for inherited disease, to ensure your cat are all healthy when you got it. A reputable breeder would encourage you to visit their house, have a look at their living environment, how sociable is the cat, telling you all the personality and habits of it. They will also educate you about the breed, how to take care of them etc. All pedigree cat sold to be house hold pet are neutered. This is to prevent illegal breeding of their cats. Kittens are off to their new family at minimum 16-18weeks old. This is also to ensure there is no major sickness in the kitten.

In the opposite, backyard breeder(pet shops especially) are totally different. They purely breed the cat to sell their litters. We're cat lovers, yet we're going to ignore the fact of how hard is it to give birth? Backyard breeders give no damn about it, they would just let their cat anyhow mate, give birth and once it reaches 1-2months, sell. These cats are totally breeding machine. Their litters usually will not survive long as well, 10 years if you're lucky, else it would probably last 3-4years only.

Totally agree with u Aiko-chan....but 1 thing that im not agreed is savannah not available in Malaysia...try google for Forestwood cattery own by Mr. Samy the lawyer lol...he do own a pair of serval plus producing his own line of pedigree serval...Mr thomas oii also have one if im not mistaken.interested on serval?make sure u really have a deep pocket...if im not mistaken RM35k/tail comes with licence.Malaysia have savanah breeder in sabah...try google the website(i forgot the cattery name lol)..FiFe recognize bengal as a pedigree breed, the same as TICA...so for me its still ok CFA doesnt except bengal as a Pedigree breed..every breed have their own speciality & personality..so make sure which one satify your need...But some local cattery a fussy...very leceh to deal one...so good luck to anyone who try to get their own pedigree cat.sometime i not really blaming any cattery about the pricing on their cat..some breed are rare and not totally establish in Malaysia...so try to compare the price from local cattery and overseas cattery..maybe local cattery cheaper around 1-3k than overseas.of course la,they buy the parentage in overseas price...or some of it come from champion line(CH,QCH as example.)...Like Bengals...most cattery in Malaysia(but not all)registered as The International Bengal Cat Society (TIBCS) and tie on TIBCS Code Of Ethics..but yeah, human can fake almost everything...so choose well from which cattery your future kitten will come from..not just based from the price..but the quality and health factor.(very kesian la cat been keep as a breeding machine).

Serval + Domestic or Bengal = Savanah ( F1 )
Asian Leopard Cat + Domestic = Bengal ( F1 )

ps: (sorry for my broken English... whistling.gif )
*
Serious? Because so far I've yet to see any savannah in shows or in local cat fancy pages, my friends does not know much about any available savannah cattery/owner so I assumed that it's not legal yet to own one here. Yeah I know about the pricing for savannah. Even in US itself it cost minimum 10k USD each.
Well, majority well known breed are acknowledge by CFA, so cattery only register them under CFA but not in other association. Do we have TICA association locally?
Indeed, pick breed that suits your lifestyle is the most important thing. Like if decide to get a long hair cat, need to have the commitment to groom them at least once a week. Short hair cat need lesser grooming but if you have a very vocal and active cat like Siamese, need to keep them accompanied or entertained. Else the cat like you buy back home, give them a bigger cage to live only. =(
Cattery being fussy also is a good thing what, that shows how much their care about their babies. So far the ones I've dealt with and know are pretty much really nice people. I do update status of the cat from time to time, so I think they don't bother much for me? Lololol. Cattery litter's price are totally not complain-able. Think about the amount they spent to import a cat, all the trip to vet, vaccination, taking care of the litters, are all not easy. The effort spent in order to ensure the quality and health are priceless. Paying that amount is pretty much just giving them a little credit for what they've done and some extra for future planning. Most breeder do cattery as a hobby, but not business. ~__~ Which is why it's important to look for a reputable breeder. Boycott backyard breeder!

Owh! I've previously seen MCFA exhibition at Sunway, but when I asked what association are they under, they don't want to tell me. >___>;;

I have 3 cats living together, so they pretty much still can accompany each other. ~_~ Another 2 more cats with my mom and my bf each. My bf's cat very attention whore, but kesian her when my bf go to work, no one teman her. >__<

I was very into Coon previously, but since I've obtained one, I'm aiming for a Raggie next. XDD

I picked up a stray cat and wanna send him to a nearby shelter home, but SPCA or PAWS are just too far for me.

Never ever put cats to SPCA or PAWS, they will put the cat to sleep after sometime if it is not adopted.

try to feed him/her more milk
my skinny cat gained a lot of weight after we feed her
milk everyday
*
trolling? Cats are lactose intolerant in general. You can give only cat milk. Some cats can't even tolerate goat milk.

Gaining muscle =/= gaining fat. Feeding cats in premium food is one of the best way to gain weight. Choose better kibbles and try to steam chicken meat for the cat. Also as mentioned previously, deworm and better do a full blood test on the cat. It might have kidney/etc problem.

Visit a shelter, play with the cats there. Do note that some cat's personality might change after settling down with you. xD A cat of mine used to be like w/e on everything when with the previous owner, but after got adopted by me, he become supppperrrrrrr manja. XD

The time I went to her place it was only his 2nd day in there.
So he was still quite shy and not use to the new environment yet.
but now almost a week my gf said he is running all over the house already. the first pic was yesterday's, he is starting to play hide n seek with her

btw for a bsh this kitty is quite noisy. make sound all the time. more like an attention seeker, meowing every time being left alone. before poop oso meow, after poop oso meow. lol
*
How much did your gf get it for?
And lol, there is no such thing as "For a BSH, this kitten is considered noisy". Every cat got their own personality and being vocal or not does not depends on breed most of the time. UNLESS you're talking about Siamese, they are pretty well known as the most vocal cat. Siamese membebel all day long =__=

Kittens have the tendency to meow a lot, especially if they feel unsecured. People says that it takes 6 months for a cat to completely settle down in a place/owner. But as for my experience, it takes about 3-4 months for the cat to be absolutely comfortable with everything around it.

Most cats goes crazy after pooping, Japanese calls it "toilet high". As in they meow/run/jump all around before/after they go to toilet. Unexplainable why they does that though. xDD

Actually we are both working and staying in Sg, so yeah no import/export involved.
although iirc getting from singapore to malaysia no need to quarantine
but from malaysia to sg need to quarantine 30days.

We were thinking of getting a kitty from malaysia and import it into Sg.
but boarding fee per day at the quarantine centre is like $18 a day, which is gonna cost about $540 total
and we dont want the kitty to be stressed and alone for 30 days, thats gonna effect
its temperament.
*
O_O You sure it's 30 days but not 3 days? Idk about sg but iinm for import into msia, quarantine only up to about 1week.

I've just asked my breeder friends about importing pets to m'sia. Generally it's not much of a big hassle as long as you follow the rules and regulation. Quarantine is only up to 7 days.
But if in Sabah /Sarawak, quarantine is min 6months. O___________O

my current american shorthair male been eating iams and is doing good...is it okay for me to mix 1:1 ratio persian RC and Iams  for her? ...
*
Why give Iams? It's not really a good food to begin with, unless you're feeding on the higher end of IAMS food which is not available here.
Try giving grain-free kibbles, those are way better (Orijen, Innova evo, addiction etc etc)r. Occasional home made food is good supplement as well. Give them better food and they will live longer.

QUOTE(beawolf64 @ Jan 9 2012, 12:49 PM)
skip on innova evo....for me,they are so expensive but not worth it...now innova evo not own by Natura anymore... the current management have a bad record on cat food product before...before this many ppl tell me that if i using Evo,i need to control on 'how many' and 'how often' to feed the cat.after feeding them on scheduled routine for past 2 week :-

Male - diarrhea
Female - diarrhea

my feeding routine :-

Twice a day for Evo kibble(control quantity)chicken turkey and 24 hours clean water supply
Meanwhile at night-wet cat food (innova Evo)chicken turkey

plus the are free roaming indoor cat and always exercise..
Now i change to another product and totally waste my extra 5-6 kilo of Innova Evo expiring on Nov 2012

Maybe my cat are not suit for this kibble.but after reading some review about this product in webs, many loyal user of this kibble already change to other coz some of their cat having trouble with it just like me...
so my advice, choose wisely before buying...not all the expensive one are good, not all the cheap one are bad... smile.gif
*
Your cat will get diarrhea if it is overfed. Means over nutritious. If feeding with high protein food, ie innova evo, it can easily be overfed. So controlling their diet is important when you're feeding these grain-free food. The feeding portion written behind the packaging is a perfect guide. I've been feeding all my cats for years with those and they never had problem before. When feeding with grain-free kibbles, the feeding portion will be much smaller compared to the rest.

I'm not sure how long has Evo changed their company/etc coz my stock was bought during Oct2011, unsure if it's the same with the current batches. Will let you guys know once I tried the new batch of kibbles.
