How to get US region apps:

1) Register another hotmail account but don't put Malaysia as the region.

2) Reset your phone and enter that e-mail as the 1st profile. Dont worry, you can add your old hotmail as 2nd profile with People and Push E-mail working as before with the same contacts added.

ps - I did it with my wife phone and now she can download apps from US region and getting X-box live as well.

For AGPS problem, it is HARDWARE problem, so people, send your lumia to nokia service centre and get it repaired for free.

still don't have time to go...

geezz... i just found that the bluetooth is not compatible with other phone & the one on laptop.. sigh..

uncompatible like how bro? if contact transfer to other phone or vice versa, yes, but if to transfer file, then lumia doesnt do that all yet. wait until upgrade to 7.8, then it will be enabled as i heard recently.

no new users for 710? thread so long no update.

btw i've just sent my lumia to amcorp Nokia Care
report on GPS not working. hopefully they'll straight change the board without hoo-haa like i read before.

good, pester them to change the board. this problem should have entered their database long time ago, it's very serious.

anyway, i guess most of us is now just waiting for update to 7.8 ;D

guys. which marketplace better? malaysia or us?
i got both email registered. one for each region.

if i use malaysia, the marketplace is so funny, words in malay.
Nokia drive become Nokia Pandu. LOL.
but lucky if installed, the icon showing Nokia Drive.

US is the best loh as we can see more and more apps...but anyway sometimes we also doesnt need the app if we are in malaysia.

nokia pandu or nokia drive or nokia apa-apa doesnt really matter as long as it is working on our phone but i bet not all L710 owners are that lucky...

more apps? hmmm.. maybe i'll reset my phone later..

just to update that i've collected my phone.. they said only fix the software.
but so far so good. the gps voice now can be played.. but dunno how the gps will work or not.
now in the office it shows A-GPS. HAccuracy now showing some value.. last time only stuck at 3000meters

Hey guys, new Lumia 710 user here.
This is my second shot with WP. I was using Mozart as a temp phone while my S2 was sent for warranty claim for a couple of weeks but it was a little slow then, this was a year ago.

Now using 710 as my 2ndary phone for work purpose while note as my main. Prior to S2, I was a hardcore bb user, spent a premium to upgrade from previous BB 9700 to the 9900 when it newly launched only to find out it was not much of an upgrade. Couldn't take the lag.

The 710 is a much faster phone compared to the 9900, top line of bb. for probably 1/2 the price or maybe lesser.

I just got the phone last night, and the micro sim earlier today. Hoping to share and learn together with WP folks

& welcome Mixologist yes even lumia 610 can beat the BB already in term of UI but i still like BB in term of the stability of the software and its apps whereby WP still have to catch up in some areas

LUMIA 710 @ RM 560 / 780 (ORI)
LUMIA 800 @ RM 850 / 900 (ORI)
LUMIA 900 @ RM 1430 / 1650 (ORI)

I am torn between Lumia 710 and 800. The price gap is quite big from AP set to another AP Set for 710 and 810. By the way anyone using AP set and anything should I be alert for?

good news indeed!!! my gps seems working fine now.
last time i got the below problem
1) voice not play in gps (even installed with voice)
2) only A-GPS mode selected (test by using GPSinfo)
3) HAccuracy & Vaccuracy always stuck at 3000m each.


and i've test them outside my office today. went to open place.
1) full GPS mode detected (test with GPSinfo)
2) Haccuracy & vaccuracy showing few meters difference only
3) voice now function properly

can't check further as the battery flat
but hope everything is going to be fine.

so if anyone is still having problem. can go any nokia care. i believe they now get the correct software to fix the problem. few isolated issue might be related with hardware as i read in forum before.

in my case, it took only 1 day for them to fix.
sent on wednesday afternoon.
check status on thursday night and it shows "ready for collection"
receive call on friday morning to collect.
overall very satisfied with the service.
i went to amcorp nokia care btw..

wow, feel happy for you instead. many not so lucky ones went to ncc a few times just to solve this problem and you got it done in a day! maybe they really know whats happening now so they manage to get it done quickly or just for the amcorp branch? anyway congrats!

bro AADH, yeah its quite tempting (the AP set price), but unless you really cant afford it, it's always better to buy a ORI set as you may have read the previous posting about the problems that we face with the ORI set and about the Nokia service centre. those are ORI sets, i cant imagine if you have the AP set and if the set have problems like that so will it be more troublesome to get it rectify compare to Nokia service centre? or maybe those selling AP sets can get it done better than Nokia ...so far no one experience that or posted here before so i am not sure. but it all depends on luck when buying something.

but if you are first time into WP, i suggest you get the L710 as it is very similar to the L800 (to me at least), the only thing i dislike about the L710 is the physical button at the bottom of the screen whereby all the other lumias are having full capacitive touch screen. the only thing good about the physical button is that you wont accidentally touch the search & back button whereby it happens frequently to other lumias. the screen is also as good as AMOLED (again, to me at least)..and the last tips is get the white color one ! again, to me it is the best color and finishing/feel in all lumias and if possible check the GPS

guess what, i dont need to update my phone as it's already updated when i check thru zune.

and i think App highlight by nokia is a must have. i got "Contact Share" through this app. you won't see this Contact Share in Malaysia marketplace.

and if you would like to know what is top software in other region, you don't need to reset the hp, just change the region+language settings. but the contra is, your marketplace is still in malaysia. only for Apps Highlight you can change region.

ohh thank you too for sharing the updates, but i saw Contact Share months ago (i was on 8773) but i didnt install it as i dont need it. and i dont install Apps Highlight as well LOL! keep on sharing & caring!

Just want to chime in as a new WP and Lumia user....well semi user since i bought the phone as a gift for my wife.

I was blessed enough that the GPS works beautifully, with the latest FW already installed.
I can get a lock in seconds which is quite good and holding it in very tight spots.

Will update more when I get used to it, so far major gripe is no USB mass storage / file management.
