A big welcome for you then :-)
Dont worry.., your 'strugging' to get a non-G version is really worth it.

I got Samsung Galaxy S II for a while but just didn't have time to report in smile.gif

Bought the phone via instalment, without contract. Currently using CM7.1 and liking it biggrin.gif

What would be a good Kernel for my CheckROM 1.0? I am currently running the default kernel which is the same one which I was running in my KI3.

Contrary to general reviews, I don't have too much problems with the ROM. It's crazy fast, minimalistic & customizable. There are room for improvements too especially the camera (that's slow compare to stock) and the auto brightness that looks dark most of the time.

Can't wait for ICS ROMs to be released for SGS-II drool.gif

The G version seems to be using a Ti OMAP 4430 SoC, as opposed to the Exynos version using in the non-G version.

XDA-Forumers' reviews say bluetooth is still buggy, but is already fixed in nightlies.

Any kernel also can. Speedmod 2-5 and siyah 2.1 betas are the most used one. Check himself uses hellcat.

Not GT-I9109i but I9100G. For M'sia got two version already. The G version got different CPU/GPU spec. No custom roms for G version yet

I'm quite certain mine is GT-i9100 instead of GT-i9100G.

But is having G-version necessarily a bad thing? I thought Ti OMAP is the future standard for high-end Android phones

How to get the Siyah beta? the page at XDA only got the full version 2.0.

I guess I will use the Speedmod kernel. How does the battery life compare between them?
