On CheckROM now, I notice my GPS keeps being used by itself, with no running apps. Only restarting or closing all running apps with the samsung task manager helps remove it. Anyone have any idea? I think it might be google's location collecting service, I remember seeing something about it while setting up my gmail account in my phone...no idea how to disable it

I do not have this problem with checkrom. What app did you close with task manager? You can just permanently close gps in the dropdown notification bar if you do not use it.

me too. wifi everywhere, last month oni use around 50mb, till last day feel very unworthy then go dl all the apps using data

I figured it out already. I always leave my GPS on, because it is actually off if no app uses it. Makes no difference whether it is off or on, so easier to leave it on

I not using surgeon script, just using theme. Batt life never been able to be that good anymore. I switch to siyah kernel to see if batt can be same as that 2% in 5hrs

i'm testing the 2000mah battery now. it drops rapidly and i found out that the data was activated. i'm going to UV with setcpu later on to check whether the battery life will improve or not.

to really test battery life one has to include data usage..

bt cant really tell if custom rom really improves battery life.. we are sort of biased because we wan custom rom to be good..we need a standard to compare..

i use it as a smartphone.. actually i have just gotten a stable rom.so can't really tell u anything .. i even flash rom when im outside with 15%.. just today i set it as HSPDA hotspot for 2 hrs at 56%.. it came down to 8%..

but i guarantee u i will need to charge my phone by evening.. coz im quite a modera-heavy usage.. that's my pattern. this is also a reason why i just dropped da idea of getting a higher capacity battery.... highly likely that i'll get one external charger..

if like that, it doesn't matter if u use any type of battery, at the end of the day u need to charge ur phone rite? coz using data 24/7 will definitely drain ur battery faster than using wifi. this is already stated inside the phones tips on how to prolong battery life.

so now i'm trying to test the battery on moderate usage, i mean on basic use like call, sms and browse internet. if it can last at least 1 day, that should be ok. coz we cannot maintain the same level of usage after each charging right?

Was a glitch, under google in the web browser, the settings were to check my location was off, so i turned it back on and then off again. I also disabled location checking under the settings in the web browser.
