great goal from Ba but the penalty was bitter one as i thought FK will do more suffice on that situation... VDV signalled to Friedel to go right (VDV's right) but Friedel dive the other way and Ben Arfa did slot it in by the right side.
Anyway Harry Kane didnt touch any ball, pity him.
just like last season, we lost first game but overall the team played well.

i am utterly disappointed with the performance tonight . Where is the free flowing football that we have been playing all the time last 2-3 seasons ? From what i can see , AVB s tactics is very very defensive minded , absorb all the attack then only go on counter-attack . You can see it when they put out 2 defensive midfielder instead of going for VDV .. We seriously need another striker or 2 , harry kane ? my god ... i hope spurs will be in top 4 at least , this season , i really do ... aih

^ AVB is aware of the striker problem. he's trying to close 1-2 deals within nx few days it seems.

it is always tough to get a result at Newcastle and personally, i felt that the performance last night was much better than any pre season match.

AVB installed part of his system which saw nice attacking football in the first half. The Ba goal was unsavable but partly due to Walker spinning away from the player rather than closely marking him. The penalty was a great move by them catching vdv and Lennon flatfooted.

I am sure AVB will make improvements by the next match. I truly liked the way he continually shouts instructions from the technical area rather than 'arry always just sitting in his seat. The way AVB celebrated Defoe's goal was immense.

yeah. i think i only saw arry celebrate enthusiasticly when we beat newcastle 5-0 last season.
most of the time he just sit there mumbling something.
i like the way the team played, only lady luck and some minor part is not on our side.

you did not only saw harry kane on the subs bench but he did come in, subs sandro, played for around 10m without touching the ball...
pity him, agree with young talent development but this just shows how lack we are in that department...

if we had a proper target man for the match, we could have got a result from the match ... i blame the loss on levy ... stop screwing around ... buy ade ...
