The end of an era for Ledders. A beast of a central defender and will always be a legend at White Hart Lane.

excerpt from Wiki

King announced his retirement from all forms of football on 19 July 2012 as a result of the chronic knee injuries that plagued much of his career, although it was confirmed he would continue to represent Tottenham Hotspur on an ambassadorial level. Ledley is respected for his reading of the game, coolness under pressure, timing, pace, passing, dominance in the air and his professionalism.

hope he can pass down his quality to the young talents...

Added on July 20, 2012, 12:28 pmHarry Redknapp said of King's knee injury:

"There's no cure. There's no cartilage, nothing to operate on. It's just bone on bone. So it's just a question of managing it. It swells up after games and it normally takes seven days to recover but having played on Monday night he's had less time than usual. He rarely trains, he mostly just goes to the gym to keep himself ticking over. But not running or anything like that. But even if he only plays 20 games a season, he's worth having because he's so good we have a much better chance of winning."

so true it gives me goosebump... no other club have this kind of player...

I watched most of the match against the Galaxy and ball movement from us was good and the ball from Sigurdsson to Bale for the goal was a beauty. The Galaxy's equaliser was largely due to us not playing a natural left back on the left in the 1st half.

Vertonghen and Kaboul need to work out more on the central defense partnership.

Nice start to the preseason and Liverpool is next in Baltimore on Saturday.

COYS!

sore ankle but probably not very serious. he might not start in New York on Tuesday night though if AVB wants to make sure it has time to recover.

Charlie Adam really made too harsh a tackle for a friendly match IMHO.

Your chairman really power la. Can buy pienaar from everton for 3mil pounds and then after 18months, sell a seldom used and older player back to the same club for a 1.5 mil profit. Respect.
