We had greater possession but lost to a good clinical goal.

AVB has got to get the new team to gel and we will be fine.

lack of creative playmaker to provide those passes, why AVb didnt play Holtby? he's been good during the match against Tbilisi.
Anyway, Bale has been sold, finally!
thanks for the memories and now, the money coming in smile.gif

we do need an "in the hole" guy. noticed it since our first match this season. we won our first 2 matches, but i don't find the performances convincing.

i wish we still have the swagger of old, where we attempt to score 1 goal more than our opponent. we've lost that quality.

ahh. he 12 year old arsenal fan is here.

personally, i feel for you guys. not that long ago, you guys were up there, fighting for the title. man utd, chelsea and liverpool were your rivals. we were merely a distraction.

now, we're a threat, and you guys have regressed. oh well, the 4th is considered a trophy nowadays, right?

Just give the team time to gel. AVB knows that Levy has invested so he has to deliver. Eriksen will be the guy in the hole (No. 10 sort of player) while Lamela and Townsend will attack from the wings.

I thought we would have gone in for Coentro as we need cover for Rose now that BAE is out on loan. If AVB thinks that Vertonghen will cover LB, that means the CBs will rotate among Dawson, Kaboul and Chiriches.

Looking forwards! COYS!

problem is, his shape looks like this

defensive phase, standard 4231

rb - cd - cd - lb
_____dm
____cm - cm
rw__________lw
______st

attacking phase

__ cd - dm - cd
rwb -cm - cm - lwb
rw ----- st -------lw

the playing area gets compressed.
too often we see soldado left alone inside the box. he needs more support.
it's just not working at the moment. we play hopeful crosses to the center and soldado have to fight off multiple defenders to get a shot. our midfielders can't play a through pass to save their life. as we get frustrated, everyone tries shooting from range, with little result.

will be nice if we can pick one side to attack from, and shunt it more like this.

rb - cd - cd
-----cm - cm - lwb
rw -----am
______ st - lif

or mirror it to the other side.

our attacking pattern is too rigid atm. attacks should be fluid. defense should be rigid. hopefully, the new guys will provide that once they are comfortable.

a very comfortable win today. We have found our playmaker in Eriksen. And with Lamela to integrate, it is going to be exciting!!!

onwards and upwards! COYS!

Nice win with 2 goals from defoe and first goal for the team by eriksen.
Defoe convert half chance to goals, showing how prolific he can be when faced competition internally. This is good for the team.
Rose injured now, hope he can recover for the Cardiff game, if not Vertonghen will play at LB or worse, Naughton will be.

What do you mean wish to see Lamela play more?
Since he comes to spurs, he played all matches as subs and last night he played full 90m...
last night he assisted defoe for the first goal...

With Mark Clattenburg as the ref, we get a goal in Fergie time!!! Paulinho scores with style. He turns and almost like he backheels the ball in!

Lamela must start on the right and Townsend on the left from now on.

COYS!!!!
