hi, welcome!
computer engineering study in depth about hardware, and also its relation with software.
IT / comp science focus more on software and coding, and little on hardware.
Besides, computer engineering graduate is a professional, whereas IT/comp science graduate is not.

KBU! I was there for 3.5 semesters, foundation then e&c for 3/4 of 1st year... wayyy back when we had to pay Rm60 for 1 month of internet access. Ahhh, the memories... :-)

I left KBU and went to Monash after that... from my experience, KBU's curriculum was much more practical and hands-on, Monash a bit too heavy on the theory side, but now Monash have changed their course structure dramatically to be more design-oriented. KBU had more project work. All the best with it!

Btw, I just have to ask... are you still expected to etch PCBs with ferric chloride? That was the kind of old-skool stupid but fun project that I enjoyed doing so much at KBU! I think that was year 1 sem 1... or maybe foundation...

hello folks,

found this thread from education essential section. glad to join in.
self-intro, i'm a 2nd year diploma in Electonic Engineeering from TARC.
please add me in the list.

anyway, after graduating my diploma, i;m thinking not to continue Advanced Diploma at TARC or degree at UTAR. there r 1 choice in my mind now, which is Nottingham (malaysia campus). however, my lecturer say if my parents could afford my studies at nottingham, he suggest me to go to sheffield (UK) to further my studies.

so, any opinion?

p/s : if this topic is not suitable to be discussed here, please let me know. thx

Hi guys, notworthy.gif

I'm a 1st year diploma in E & E student here, i have a really basic question to ask those seniors here but don't know is this the suitable place sweat.gif

Anyways my question is how do you place polarity signs on components in a circuit so that i could work out a KVL equation correctly.. as even my lecturer seems to be "unclear" about the true placings of the signs.

Thanks biggrin.gif

your concept to add/sub the value is very important. I can't explain through here , it may easy to explain if face to face. Doing DC circuit analysis ?? lol laugh.gif have fun with mesh , thevenin , norton , super position biggrin.gif
