Can i be a member too, currently doing computer architecture in university and an ex electrical engineering guy.smile.gif

I think computer science can also be related to computer engineering coz a lot of subjects taken upby computer science students also co relate with computer engineering for example, computer architecture, computer systems, software engineering, so why cant computer science students be a part of this thread?

Latest update in what I am learning, computer security and disaster recovery and database systems. Somewhat I felt that I did not learn enough in fpga and hardware in my comp engineering course. ONly subject I had was digital computer design, where we learnt fpga and those altera stuff. Its like more towards software side.

Was reading up on VIA's upcoming CPU architecture (CN), and i came across these slides from long ago. Looks like a pretty agressive OoO design. Hopefully performance is there, it should be quite interesting if they manage to maintain the C7's power envelope too.

Hello guys,

Can anybody tell me how to solve this question?

For a cylic code, if an error pattern e(x) is detectable. show that its i cyclic shift e^(i) (x) is also detectable.

I was thinking this...

s(x) = r(x) mod g(x)

then look up the syndrome table, to find the error pattern.
What puzzled me is,

If let say I have a i cyclic shift r'(x), how do I know which s'(x) and what e'(x) I have. How do I actually show that i cyclic shift e^(i) (x) is also detectable. ?

Thanks a lot
