Get up to RM300 cashback when you open an e$saver or SuperSalary a/c from 1 July - 31 July & meet all other conditions.

This sounds like the previous promo but with a different period but not able to find the info at the website. Anyone?

I was told HLB offering 3.6% 12 months FD for Senior Citizens but I did not ask for details. So those of you who are eligible, check it out the next time you are at HLB.

hi all ,

would like to ask opinion regarding fd and flexi home loan..
let say one home loan interest is 6.6-2.3= 4.3% interest...
with the flexi plan we 'earn' 4.3% by placing money in the current account..

Will you rather put your money in Fd for short term to get some extra 'real cash' for a 4.25% interest (OCBC combo) or would u rather put ur money in homeloan flexi acc to reduce the interest charged n more principle paid...
*
For me, I will put in HL. It will be a hassle to remember the matuarity date of the FD as I think once expire, the rate will go back to board rate. And there will be few days gap to bring out the $ and put back to them HL due to busy, work cannot take leave, etc. Sometimes may drag even weeks/months if you totally forgot about it.

the best person to advice you is the bank officer who help you to get the home loan as we do not know the terms and conditions of your loan.

Ask that person

1) what if I bank in RMx for the home loan, how much is the interest saving?

2) Calculate yourself if you put in RMx amount in OCBC combo, how much interest will you earn for that 3 months period

3) compare 1 & 2

My gut feel is better to put it into home loan and hence reduce your borrowed amount and the interest saved is perpetually throughout the loan period

hemm at first i was thinking of is it better to keep the extra cash with myself.. as both way give me similar interest rate... the only difference is that 1 i can get the real extra money (ocbc fd) and if for hl acc ( paying more principle monthly)..

but when se4eing kaka23 said about the extra effort n time it seems it doesnt worth hehe....

you still can consider having that extra cash if you put in HL. you can take out anytime just using cheaque book, but need to wait for 2 days for clearing la. Still consider very liquidated cash..

Current OCBC Savings Combo Promo

According to the CS (but wasn't detailed in T&Cs), one can top-up the FD amount during the campaign period, with another 20% going into the already-opened (existing) Smart Savers account.

The OCBC saving combo promo ... is it for premier banking only? Any amount is possible, right? As for the topup, also any amount; as long as 20% goes into Smart Savers account, right?

Bro, I mentioned previously, to open several Smart Saver accounts - you, wife, join with wife (vise-versa?), with kids, with parents, etc,

Like I mentioned in previous post, the combo you can also open with new Junior account or Premier Gold.

any service fee or T&C?
how to apply? walk in? any doc?

Service fee only applies if your total relationship balance falls below the required RM300,000 for that particular month. Not too sure how much is the service fee though. You may just walk into any OCBC branch with Premier Centre to upgrade your account to Premier Banking account.
