hello guys!

rooted my phone in just 1 try!  rclxms.gif

here's what i did:
1. firstly, i bought my phone here in KSA, so i have to update my firmware to DZKJ2.

i downloaded the firmware, odin, and the pit file.

2. then i use the older method to update my firmware by using odin. SUCCESS!  smile.gif

3. after that i downloaded v3 of doomlord, edit the runme file, close kies, then started the root.

4. and after a couple of minutes of crossing my fingers, DONE ROOTING!  rclxms.gif
& now that i'm rooted, i want to install the juffo custom rom. the only problem is, i dont know what to do next. would you guys be kind enough to instruct me on how to continue.

from what i've read, i have to flash the mygkernel to have CWM in order for me to install the custom rom.

how do i flash the mygkernel?

thanks!  smile.gif

u can use either mygkernel or superatmos kernel, both have the CWM recovery
to flash the kernel, download "ktool" from android market and of course the mentioned kernel above.
put the zimage file from the downloaded kernel to the root of your phone sd partition.
use ktool to flash it, immediately reboot after that.
now u can access the CWM recovery by holding vol up + home + turn on button.
from CWM u can flash any custom rom or making backup of current rom

use ktool also to backup ur EFS (EFS is all sensitive informations like IMEI number and so on)

Or, since you're now familiar with ODIN, you can aswell use the same method before but replace firmware to mygkernel/superatmos instead on PDA.

Added on December 6, 2011, 11:12 amMy review on SuperROM so far;

It was ok until just now, all the icons/widgets/shortcuts went missing from the Home and Application displays.
Rebooted few times and it was ok until awhile ago, rebooted 3 times and problem still persisted.
I then went into CWM recovery mode and did the dalvik cache wipe.
Its OK now but I'm not sure if its really solved the issue.

Batt life wise; fully charged at 6:30AM and now it's at 80%.
Moderate usage with only several YM messages. Not satisfying so far.
Since I've also flashed the ICS theme, might contributed to the not-so-good batt life.
Will monitor again tonite and decide whether to try another kernel and/or remove the ICS theme.
Note: JD Pro is ON.

samsung is always a b*tch with the GPS, u need to use something like "GPS status" or "gpsfix" to get locked first before running other GPS apps like papago and etc

Ok, i'll try this later on.

I have a question, me and my friend both have s2, then we try the wifi direct.

We got connected, he send me a file and i received it.

Then it's my turn to send a file, but i cant seem to detect his device.

What do you think is the problem?

Thanks
