i asked a shop in penang, he told me maybe need wait till nov.. but no confirmation on date and also accuracy of the news.. sigh..i only saw 16gb magenta and black colour so far.. the design really tempting  drool.gif The different of rm300..and 16gb with 64gb...and no external microsd card supported.. hold me back to bring one home..don wan to regret.. blush.gif

on ya, regarding the battery, i read from one review, he said that the build in battery is no replaceable, mean if battery damage then cannot replace anymore..is that true? only can still replace by nokia service centre? this is important to me before i get one hmm.gif
*
16GB is enough for apps and video provided you don't use it as storage for videos and photos. But if you have a lot of music files than better go for 64 GB.

Not cannot replace, just not user replaceable. You can get it replaced by Nokia service centre or 3rd party. The battery will probably last you 2 years before you need to change and then time to change handphone also.

Another review proclaiming Meego as "dead os". Why is it dead? As long as there are people interested in buying this phone and developers producing apps it will live.

Download on your phone. There will be an option to pay by credit card or phone bill. Select the phone bill option and the amount will be deducted from your prepaid.

after searching at nokia account, it does says not every application have the option to pay by phone bill. i thought nokia store is one of the best app store available in term of payment but unfortunately my thought is wrong...
*
I've not met an app which can't pay by phone bill so they must be not very common, can you give some examples?

hi n9 users, i got some question regarding about the new n9 after i went to pav to try it

IINM, there is no notification on upcoming calender events, means it does not display it on the home screen. will there be this type of notification after this? or any apps that can support this kind of thingy?

and currently n9 doesnt support video call, nor FM. what are your opinion over this?
*
You can set an alarm for calender events and set the alarm to go off minutes, hours or weeks ahead.

There is an app called Pegerine which claims to provide video calls but I haven't tried it so I can't say if works or not. The app for FM radio is definitely coming. There is already a workable version which need to be operated in console (developer) mode.

just tried N9 today at digi centre.very impressive.the touch feel great and very responsive.but its not worthy to buy through digi.they offering N9 at RM1449+368.total I have to pay RM1817 even higher than nokia centre.hope the price will rapidly decrease by the end of this month so I could grab the cyan.. biggrin.gif
*
What a lousy deal to sell higher than the RRP of RM1799 on contract. I wonder who they are trying to con. You could buy an N9 without contract and shop for the best data plan. If you are on Digi prepaid they have daily plans and weekly plans so you can pay as you need. But I doubt the price will drop rapidly because Nokia can barely produce enough for world demand or they choose not to.

Newbie here... biggrin.gif
One of the store i went mentioned that bh 505 foc for three days only after the launching of n9? After that no more already...need to buy liao... cry.gif
Can anyone confirm this hmm.gif
*
BH505 freebie was actually for pre-order of 64GB N9. After pre-order I was informed it will be subject to stock. So the dealer is probably right but no harm to check with a few other dealers.

The WP7 homescreen is so ugly and it doesn't even use up the whole screen. How is it going to save Nokia?

Did you put a screen protector on it? The mysterious thing about gorilla glass is that people can demonstrate it is very hard to scratch by intentionally trying to scratch it but it can still get scratched in normal use.

Stick a screen protector on it bro, and it won't be visible. If you can't find one cut your own.

There's one on ebay here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/IPG-Nokia-N9-Invis...6#ht_5536wt_876

but why bother? Just get a 7" Galaxy Tab screen protector and cut to size.

The screen protector will follow the curve screen. I don't think there is any curved screen protector even if specially for N9.

Just because that Elop said there will be no more Meego phone is not the final word. If N9 demand is good and Lumia's demand is poor do you think Nokia will embrace WP7 to death? If it is up to Elop (a Microsoft mole who is the 7th largest shareholder in MS but owns no Nokia shares) maybe but I don't suppose the Board will allow him to put Nokia into a hole in the ground.

Have u guys noticed how different N9 have different place of where the Zitron and Skmm sticker are stick to. Lucky mine was neatley aligned with the Zitron under the camera and the Skmm below it.

I have seen N9 unit where the sticker was placed at random with one wayy on top and the other wayy below.

I was wondering, would it void the warranty if i remove these stickers/logo? Im using pouch, and everytime i take it out, i always think it would be better without it. It just pop into my head that my N9 looks like my dad extension plug or like the back of my washing machine with Sirim logo allover blush.gif
*
I don't think it will void your warranty to remove those stickers. You'll still have your warranty card and Nokia will have a list of IMEI nos which are authorized. The stickers can't be expected to last forever with normal wear and tear. This is my opinion but you can check with Nokia if you need official confirmation.

Here's what Konttori of Nokia says about changing the system font:

Themes can change the font. It's a shame ovi stoe doesn't have any yet. As a resort, you can go, set deveoper mode on and edit /usr/share/themes/blanco/constants.ini file (from top of my mind) and set the fonts there to different size, then reboot and voila. Anyway, all that should be very simple with theme.

Anybody want to try?

Check out this website... It's still new and less apps are featured but the UI is much better than My-Meego smile.gif

Actually all the apps are from Ovi store but the presentation is much better than the tiny screenshots in ovi store. Ovi store is flooded with a lot of useless RSS feed apps due to a Nokia wizard to churn out such apps with totally no programming skill.

For people to earn quick cash; Imagine if one sell for USD0.99, as long as it "looks" attractive on the surface (outlook), people with extra cash or desperate for apps, may fall into the trap and purchase, plus they may think, only USD0.99 "mah".
This platform may not be so much, imagine like iPhone, there're tons of users, even with 1% of people think like this and buy, the so called developer will earn some easy money.
That's why it's not good for these wizards, or more specifically, there need to be some proper management on the store to check/approve certain apps/games, as well as the prices.
Some apps is basically just pulling RSS feeds, or Web Page, or simply plain apps... all these are very redundant and useless IMO, there should be one app which come with default multiple RSS Feeds, or Web Page, and you can add any additional, rather an one app for each.
*
Earn quick cash? Only a "goondu" will want to pay anything for these useless feed apps. You can't even read the news item within the app, most of them will just re-direct you to a webpage which is not even formatted for mobile. It's quite irritating to be inundated with them when you browse the store, makes it harder to find the gems from the sand. Ovi store seem to have no quality control at all. That's why we need sites like N9 Apps. Although all the apps are from Ovi store the presentation is much better. The most comprehensive N9 app store is at My-Meego
