Don't send to NCC Subang Jaya or it will take at least 2 weeks to come out. Try the 1Utama NCC. They are more professional.

my unit still up for sale..seems like this device does not have enough market awareness making it soo hard to sell..what more used item?!! Hahaha..

its a pity for nokia for having such a capable platform but doesn't put enough effort to complete it before the user get their hands on it..as of now Im not sure my 8 months wait worth it or not..wahahhaha

so as long as I have this device..I'll use it lohr..hehhe

It's getting better. PR1.2 will be out soon and you may want to wait for it.

Here's where you can get the file manager:

The N900 is still there to stay, despite the age and how old it is, it's still the best internet tablet smartphone available to date, plus, with mplayer, the codecs, it's one of the device which can play almost any video files (except those in high resolution/bitrate). With other OS, there's just so many issue and limitations.
*
Yes, but does it have whatsapp, fruit ninja and angry birds? How about dropbox, skype or sports tracker? The N900 is for geeks and hackers, general users should not think it can replace their Android or iphone. It is still a good device but a dead end.

if you are a fludity and simplify version go for Nokia N9

If you are an app person go for Nokia Lumia 800
*
If you are an app person go for Android or iphone. WP7 doesn't have a lot of apps.

I still recommend N9 over Lumia for true multitasking, mass storage mode and ability to customize. WP7 is a closed system like iphone and you need to use Zune just to transfer files to your phone. The music playback of N9 is far superior to Lumia which has been described as giving a muddy sound.

I think what you installed is just a patch. Try
fennec_11.0~a2_armel.deb or fennec_12.0~a2_armel.deb

MeeGo is between simplicity and power/flexibility. So, to me, it's like hybrid.

Windows Phone? It's in the same category as iOS. It's simple, smooth, reliable and full of restrictions and limitations.... BUT, it has a homescreen and it has social networks integration like Maemo/Meego, the People Hub. And more to come. So... in other words, it's a BETTER iPhone. Right now, it's only lacking in Apps and Games, but it's coming.
*
WP7 is not a better iphone. Its appstore is less than 1/10 of ios and it will never come close. The os has not caught up with ios or Android by a long shot. It does not support multicore, NFC, wi-fi hotspot or video calls and it has a fixed resolution which is getting low by today's standard. It does not support Divx or Xivd video codec so Zune has to convert to a low quality version. It has fake multitasking which is even worse than ios as it only allows 5 apps to be opened. The internal storage support is only limited to 16GB now. Compared to iphone its voice control is only rudimentary.

WP7 does not have a homescreen. A homescreen is where you can put widgets. WP7's tiles are not widgets. Only certain types of tiles can be live and their information density is very low like just showing the no. calls or msgs or a line of text. Those tiles which are not live are just big ugly icons.

In terms of restrictions WP7 may be worse than iphone as it does not even allow you to use any MP3 files as ringtones. You have to buy ringtones from the Microsoft store. At least iphone can be jailbroken to bypass the restrictions but no such luck for WP7.

Although I'm not an iphone fan to call WP7 a better iphone is an insult to Apple. At most it is a cheaper but less capable phone for those who cannot afford an iphone 4S.

As Android ICS has been demonstrated on an N9 very soon we may be able to dual boot between Android and MeeGo. This will wipe away the drawback of N9 in apps. Users may want to consider this before plumbing down for a closed and fenced up WP7 phone which will be forever playing catch-up to ios, Android and MeeGo.

depends on how you wanna define it and iOS is been around since like many years ago. WP7 just started because they totally rewrite everything.

*
It doesn't matter that WP7 just started a year ago. Users don't bother waiting for an os to grow up if they can get a better os right now. You have to remember that when ios first started the competition was also just as bad. Android was practically unusable except for geeks. Blackberry was mainly about email. Symbian was struggling with touchscreens. In the present environment users have lots of choices including MeeGo. WP7 has to compete with present day os, not those from the dawn of smartphones.

considering.

WP7's limitations will send you screaming back to MeeGo soon enough.

A SP is advisable. You can scratch the screen by just wiping it if your cloth has some bits of sand on it. Gorilla glass is hard to break but not hard to scratch. Because of fingerprints you have to wipe your screen many times a day.

I don't feel any difference with the swipe action with the SP on. Can't even feel the SP.

The A-GPS can use either wi-fi or mobile data to help you get a lock indoors faster. Just make sure A-GPS is turned on.

speaking about the gps unit of N9, i found that it easily loses sign quit frequently ever since my PR1.1 update, it losses signal too easily while my drive down to kl and it regains signal once i stop navigation and let the drive app sits idly.
*
It's not my experience. No change in gps signal retention after upgrading to PR1.1.
