if only buy 1 yr @ 3k.....you save RM600 tax
the if PRS funds is annualised at 4.5% ROI pa and if other investment is 6% ROI pa
1.5% of 3k is RM45 x 13 yr = 585

abt 13.3 yrs to breakeven at RM600 if you get to invest a 6% ROI like ASB..
so if RM45 x 20 yrs = RM900 that is > the RM600 tax saving...

so it depends how long in PRS and is there a 1.5% ROI pa or more investing vehicle out there over the PRS fund per year...

RM1000 youth incentives was from 2017~2018 (2 yrs) before that was RM500 only.
Losing RM500 from RM1000 initial investment is losing about 50% ROI from this CIMB PRS fund...
hmm.gif wandering which CIMB PRS fund lose 50% since 2017? ohmy.gif

RM1.5k is a bit too low. This is the actual balance as at 1 Jan 2019.

Without the contribution from government, I would definitely making a loss!

hmm.gif wondering which PRS fund was that, that loses 32% 16% since MAY 2017 till Jan 2019 with same value reinvested in Oct/Nov 2017?
(RM320 out of RM2000 is 16%)

invested in May 2017....youth incentive scheme cut off month for calculation was June and Dec.....payment would be Oct and April
thus Oct/Nov 2017 was the reinvestment of RM1000.
most fund was making money from May 2017 till Jan 2018 sad.gif

Fundsupermart: PRS Campaign 2019: Receive RM40 Touch 'n Go eWallet Reload PIN

Receive RM40 worth of Touch ‘n Go eWallet Reload Pin when you invest a minimum amount of RM3,000 in one PRS Fund in a single transaction via FSMOne from 11 October 2019 till 13 December 2019.

I am new to prs, I have few questions here.
1)can I buy rm100 unit from ppa website to get rm10 opening fee waiver, followed by buy RM3000 similar fund at fundsupermart to get rm40 touch n go Ewallet pin?

2)what does Rm8 per fund house mean? If I choose 2 different fund house at year 1 of investment, will I be charge rm10 +Rm8*2?

most probably your suggestion can .....for most PRS funds just needed an initial investment amount of RM100......
2)what does Rm8 per fund house mean? If I choose 2 different fund house at year 1 of investment, will I be charge rm10 +Rm8*2?
seems like....for the first yr they will only charge you RM10 (a/c opening fees), then RM8 for each yr you top up your a/c....per providers...if you top up 2 providers in a year you pay RM8 x 2

hmm.gif I think other than timing,....it has to be the right fund too....

for if for the same duration, if one were to take up Affinhwang Shariah Moderate instead of non shariah...then the returns would not be > 5%
or if for the same duration, if having Cimb Moderate one...the return would have been > 10% too
or if for the same duration, if having Cimb PRS Plus Equity....then ranting.gif MINUS returns

thumbsup.gif good that you got the right fund at the right time too, may the performance of this fund be right again for the next few years.

Yes sure. I get rm1000 from government. I think RM500 is for YA2016. For YA2017-YA2018 it’s RM1,000

so I just got time to re-register my cimb principal online - i think they rebrand the thing so need to do re-registration for online.

my fund name is CIMB Islamic PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity Class A

i remember back then they say can switch fund max 2 times per year - FOC.

but i don't see how i can change online in the website. need to go branch is it?

since after 2 years++ i'm not even making money, even losing money putting in this fund, perhaps need to reconsider other fund?

hmm.gif based on past performances.....seems like this Shariah PRS fund is more stable in the returns compared to your CIMB Islamic PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity
