No need buy anymore ..means do we just leave the funds as it is or is possible to sell it and keep it in the cash account?
*
Keep. No need to sell. You sell you kena penalty of 8%. Overtime, it will be worth something. Of course along the way if something better come, can transfer to that say stashaway if they become a PRS provider.

Based on your opinion Ramjade, how do you predict when theres going to be a market sell down? How did you predict the sell down during the evening of Christmas?
*
I don't predict. But I always have cash on hand for such events. Without cash in hand, you will not have any opportunities to scoop up good deals.

Another thing you see market expensive see the ETF for idea, you still want to chase? I don't chase.

Of course you must be able to sit on cash and don't do anything. Must not have FOMO.

QUOTE(honsiong @ Feb 16 2019, 02:37 PM)
If the tax relief ends in 2021, won’t bother with PRS ady.
*
Same here. RM3k/year will automatically be allocated for PRS to be used when opportunities come.

Want to ask, where do I check the prices for the PRS NAV so I know when I want to buy in a lump sum. is there a site where i can track the daily prices?
*
You do know that unit trust NAV is delayed by 1-2 days right?
Also NAV can as mentioned can be manipulated by fund manager to make it drop like giving dividend or do a unit split.

So what you see low maybe few days ago price... Buying low have it's own risk too. Low can go lower.

You can check out FSM page of the fund you are interested in, they will list down the NAV price for past 3 months.

I don’t believe in timing the market also. Just buy and it will still go up in long run.
*
Do both. Cause why buy when is expensive? Buy when it's cheap. Is exactly like how you shop for groceries. Yes sometimes we just buy when we need. But if you can wait it out, buy during sales and you have more cash left over.

Buy with every 10-15% drop.
Buy when news all screaming to sell and no one recommending to buy.
Always have cash standby.

10%-15% drop is from which point?
*
When you look at the price if stock you want to buy, and don't feel worth buying. That's expensive. Like now.
.

Again when people all selling, just take a peek and see if anything catches your eye.

Great info. What is your prediction this year?

Currently I’m all in in ASNB

Which month to look for a dip again? Still left 2.8k to get 3k top up for 2019

Thanks
*
I already said I don't do predictions. I buy when things are cheap and give chase when things are expensive.

I not am interested in a 1-2% dip. It's nothing.

Guys what do you think about kenanga growth PRS fund??? Or should I go for CIMB instead??
*
Depends on what you want. Kenanga focus on Malaysia only while Cimb is Asia Pacific. Majority being china, India and a little in between.

hi all, i’m new here. what is the best prs to invest? my objective is for tax relief so i will only invest max 3k and of course is long term until i retire. gain of cgar 10% i will satistied already as long as no loss
*
There's no best as best is different for everyone.
Tax relict last only only 2021. If govt don't extend it, 2021 us last year if tax relief. After that no more.
No unit trust can have no loss as the underlying stuff is stock and bonds where the price flacuates.

You want no loss, choose the following.
1) promo FDs
2) amanah saham fixed price fund
3) EPF

The govt is delaying the Youth Incentive?

There's a limit of RM140m = about 140k can get only.
Also usually takes 6 months to a year to receive payment.

Hi sifus, i'm planning to invest some fund into PRS...my objective is for long term investment & get the tax rebate...i understand the market is very soft now....should i invest now or wait?..if invest now, where should i invest?
*
1st I am not sifu. Is not tax rebate. Is tax relief.
2nd invest when market is bad. Is like shopping. Do you buy when things are cheap or expensive? I buy more when is cheap.
3rd where you want to buy and what you want to buy all depends on your risk factor. If you cannot tahan losses, safer ones are bond funds (which give you FD like returns or lesser) and reit. If you can tahan losses, can pick funds which invest in stocks (equities). Again where you want to buy depends on what you want. You want pure Malaysian fund or Asia Pacific. Only you know.

Buy max 1 prs fund and max amount to put in is RM3k/year until 2021. Do not put a single sen more. Come 2022, if govt does not extend PRS tax relief, do not buy anymore.

My cheap and your cheap is different. Why is cheap for you may not be cheap for me and what is cheap for me may not be cheap for you.

Annual income below 50k can get till 750 tax relief?
*
As long as you put in RM3000, you will get some relief.
Paying income tax = say goodbye to your money. Money is not yours anymore.
Buying PRS = money is still yours and can withdraw in 20-30 years time.

Hello sifu2, what is the worse that could happen to the money you put in PRS if the fund is not performing? I just want to know what could be the worse case scenario since need to put the money until at least 55 years old to actually see the fruitful returns.
*
Not sifu.
Your money perform worse than EPF/FD.
Thus incurring opportunities cost and your money gets eaten by inflation.
Opportunities cost here means money that can be put into EPF/FD earning more returns are earning lesser because of buying wrong fund.

But then again with only max amount of RM3k/year to put in and tax relief up to year 2021, damage won't be so great.

If my understanding is correct, we won't lose the original money that put in if the fund is not performing right? Unless we choose to do pre-retirement withdrawal from sub-account B which is subjected to 8% tax penalty.
Also, saw the info about tax relief could be extended beyond 2021 https://www.ppa.my/e-learning/prs-tax-relie...ed-beyond-2021/
*
You can lose by
1) fund keeps getting -ve returns yearly
2) opportunity cost (eg money in epf can be earning say 5% a year and the fund only makes 1% a year). So couple that with inflation, you get less value for money.

Hi guys,

Budget 2020 did not announce about this but is the rm3k tax rebate still applicable? I heard it is limited years only right?
*
Yes. Until 2021. If nothing mentioned for budget 2022, no need to buy anymore in 2022.

SO far I haven't invested PRS. Is it worth to only buy 1 yr assuming they will discontinue the benefit in 2022?
*
Your choice. You like to keep money to yourself or you like to give money to govt.

For me as long as the money still belong to me, I am more than happy to find ways to pay less tax. Again the choice is yours.

1.5% seems low I think stock market can hit easily from dividend shares
I mean since im already budget for retirement if its worth to invest only 1 yr then its ok.. same purpose and get more value.. but if its not worth of cos I prefer keep myself lol
*
You need to count in returns form tax relief + fund returns.
