^ isn't that the point of using driver sweeper. to make the system fresh from any graphic driver so you can install it back without having any remnants from the last set of drivers.. install display driver from HP and you're good to go.

you can check what driver you're on right now from device manager/dxdiag/cpu-z/gpucapsviewer.

Sigh, can you give me a detailed instruction on how to do it? I got a bad set and now I'm in this situation.

Any brand of 4gb ram will works fine. if you add 2 or 8gb ram ,then it will not work in dual channel. For me, mobility square used a kingston one... cost bout 70-90,cant remember.

Be careful about the international warranty from HP. My friend who bought the dv6 here in Malaysia, was unable to claim warranty from HP United Kingdom. HP UK simply asked him to contact HP Malaysia, which is stupid IMHO for a so called "international warranty"

It has been 2 weeks and they still insist on contacting HP Malaysia.

Something to know about HP global warranty.

Link: HP: Global Warranty and FAQs

@storky20
better if u ask the seller as i recalled correctly, you can't extend the international warranty.

@LazyChildren
i'm using Kingmax atm. no problem so far.

@LazyChildren - it's better to stick with kingston.. =D i'm using kingston ram and so far have no problem what ever so far...

@storky20 - your model cannot extend warranty locally ( cause it's US model *6180US* ) so if you are flying to US... i would recommend u get the carepack from US HP store.. ( but I think it must be within 10 days of purchase like malaysia ) better to call up HP to inquire more information...

Ah I see then.

So basically if I buy the US model then I'm stuck with 1 year warranty only la lol. So the only way to get new warranty is to fly to wherever I'm going (New Zealand in this case) and purchase the warranty from over there?

EDIT: BTW I've contacted the seller and he's not sure (typical of importers so not surprised) and emailed HP (no response yet) after calling 5 times and not getting connected....
