Hello dudes and dudettes,

Future owner of a DV6-6180US soon (COD-ing this week). I'm here to ask how to buy 3 years international warranty from HP since my purchase is gonna include 1 year warranty only.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah international warranty, since I'll be flying off to uni next Feb. So any HP Reseller is able to help me extend my warranty?

Ah I see then.

So basically if I buy the US model then I'm stuck with 1 year warranty only la lol. So the only way to get new warranty is to fly to wherever I'm going (New Zealand in this case) and purchase the warranty from over there?

EDIT: BTW I've contacted the seller and he's not sure (typical of importers so not surprised) and emailed HP (no response yet) after calling 5 times and not getting connected....

+1 better safe than sorry and DV6 in NZ have a lot of variants.  drool.gif

So I either have to tahan a couple more months or get a notebook now with no extra warranty. Hmm I see then.

Thanks for everything guys (and gals, there are some here right haha)

EDIT: Checked prices of the dv6 in New Zealand. After exchange rate, even the basic 6001tx here costs 3.5k after conversion T.T My dompet gonna burn la if I buy there. Finding local alternatives nowwww.

The graphics card for the DV6 6c19TX is listed as:
AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT (1 GB GDDR5 dedicated)

I'm guessing a typo? Cause I googled it and it's actually unannounced by AMD lol.

Not typo..
*
Meaning it's really a new Graphics Card? The model number isn't the same as any on the 1st page of this thread too... So it's a dv6 line refresh already?

u meant PowerPlay? i didn't.
*
Mmm I see then. So is the 6c19tx worth the RM3,099 price tag with its i7 2670 processor and the new graphics card? Or should I keep bargain hunting for the 6001tx?

I wouldn't recommend to get 6000 series because there is no 6000 series in NZ. U probably have trouble with warranty. Your best bet is 6100 series.  6C19TX for RM 3,099? Any sauce for that info?
*
http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Bu...detail=P215175&

Specs almost identical to the current 6168tx but with 750 GB hard disk instead of 1 TB and minus the Blu Ray drive. Real price RM3674 but now RM3099. I'm guessing holiday season promotion lol.

EDIT: Oh and also 6c19tx only has 4GB of RAM only but we all know can upgrade later...

Seems that the 7690M will be a slightly overclocked 6770M while the 7690M XT (notice the XT) will resemble the 6850M in terms of performance biggrin.gif Already ordered my 6C19TX smile.gif

Only choice is Dark Umber on the HP Online Store :/ Looks better than the Steel Gray versions online anyways. Got a little bit of... 'personality'. If it's all gray then people sure think it's just another Mac wannabe lol.

Based on the article, I'm guessing that...

7690M = almost identical to the 6770M
7690M XT = Slight performance increase? Definitely better than the 6770M/7690M but not by much I guess.

When I get mine, I'll post clock speeds and whatnot la so... patience smile.gif

Gaming Comparison smile.gif

Note that the Envy 17 has the same specs as the dv6-6c19TX but of course the dv6 has a smaller resolution so expect slightly better performance.

Looks like the 7690M XT ain't so weak after all smile.gif

You beat me to it. Was stalking the NBR forums last night lol.

In other news, I did see stefan post up a GPU-Z screenshot with his 3DMark06 score at 12k+ which is.... 2k more than the 555M/6770M/6850M on similar specs so.... BAZINGA!
