Most of my friends who have the slightest interest in gundam all started off with Gundam Seed or Destiny. The first thing I tell them is... finish GS and don't even start GSD The second thing I tell them is try to watch older series, be it UC or AU (of course preferably UC).

I suppose CE still caters more to teens or even children who loves bling bling more than political talk and human conflicts.

Damn... now that you guys have mentioned 0079, the Tobe Gundamu song keeps ringing in my head...

I was never a huge anime fan, so never mind I am only crazy about Gundam, but for other animes, I don't really care.. only watch if it's convenient for me, otherwise don't care

Remaking MSG... very unlikely unless they make it like the Zeta movies. Maybe just clean it up like the DVD versions of older releases lah, my 0080 and 0083 looked brand new, even more vibrant than CE

Speaking of which, I hope whatever upcoming gundam series uses the art team which did the new scenes in the Zeta movies. Great stuff, yet not over-flashy with 3D CGIs like most newer animes nowadays.

Ok, lets' speculate...

First of all, the face of the gundam and the GM-like mecha looks totally different, even though they have the same folding antenna. However, this might be due to some sort of mask or face piece added on to obscure the face.

Secondly, the head design of the gundam is reminiscent of Nu, so it fit in the timeline nicely.

Thirdly, can anyone say STARGAZER? It seems to have the glowing "veins" too.

Can't wait...

gundam face is not that complex lah. Beneath the eyes and the mouth piece it's just sensors and wires, so a GM just has a visor to cover them all. And minus the moustache.

The point is, Unicorn = GUNDAMU... not a GM...
Unless, besides the Gundam, there's also GMs with horns.

anyway... Paptimus has a new toy !! And it comes with groin grabbing POWAH !!

Not sure whether EF is going to be involved again, or just a small task force like the Londo Bell in CCA. But be assured there will be ZEON forces

From whatever previews I've read, the novel will touch upon the creation of the UC calendar, ie UC0001 at the beginning part of the story. Then it moves to post-CCA around 0096, where some Zeon remnants start to buat kacau again (hope it's not another 0083). Then it would probably involve some sort of "new" technology named Laplace Box which will "reveal the greatest secret" of UC... What that means, nobody knows for sure since it's just speculations from other forums.

It seems that Chapter 3 of the novel is already being released... But can't find any sources which is not in Japtalk.

Just found the translations for the Unicorn Specs:


Laplace program... some AI thingy? NT-D is probably the psychoframe stuff since Alex NT-1 means it's for newtypes. And I just found out how the face transformation works... Seperate V-fin; hide face mask; rotate the side cheeks of the head.

YESSSSS.... my guesses are correct !!! They were quite obvious anyway..

So it has the stargazer-like glowing seams which represents the activation of the NT-D/Laplace System, which is something like the Psychoframe of the Nu or Sazabi. It would probably mean something more powerful than the Nu (Sazabi didn't show super newtype powah anyway) but at least it doesn't have the cheating Funnel Beam Barrier at the moment.

that's why i said the emergence mah, possibly the establishment of the faction... maybe they had already started doing something at Jupiter way before F91... Judah went over there after ZZ... Zeon remnants were still present even in F90 era although they were pretty much screwed by then.

It's the second MS revealed in the Unicorn site

My guess is that it's the prototype of the transforming Guntank found in the museum of F91, the one where Arthur died when he flew in the air and hit a wall. In fact, it might be the very same unit, with some alterations of course. After all it suits the timeline of that unit, and note the similarities of the head and the missile tube arms.

Looking at the suit, it's actually a very heavily armed unit and the performance stats are better than early UC grunt suits, although the thrusters are weak... Aiyah, long range artillery support mah, no need super boosters.

Artillery suits can be useful even in late UC, as long as they switch to long range beam cannons... but we don't see them being used in late UC because there simply ain't large scale battles... most of the battles are simply fought between small strike forces... haha, the true reason is probably because assault suits that move in and fight gets more limelight than support units who hide behind the frontlines.

08th MS team... that team was disbanded after the OYW... everyone got posted to different platoons while Shiro went to make babies and his girly sidekick Michel went fooling with the Zeon kids with Kiki...

To be honest, I didn't think the 08th MS team did well anyway... Because Shiro was a crap team leader who often wandered off on his own and got himself into deep trouble as well as endanger his team mates. If he was on board White Base he'd get Bright-slapped

Gundam was never famous for tactical warfare. Only 08th MS team showcased more on team tactics, but then it was always screwed by either Shiro or his incompetent mates Other series mainly showed assault or melee battles. Zeta and CCA had planned strategies thanks to Bright-O, but was the duels was almost always 1 vs 1 battles (with some grunts kacau-ing of course).

speaking of which, Amuro in CCA was kinda annoying too since he swats everyone else like flies. Char was more like a politician in CCA hence he didn't sortie much, hence the best non-godlike pilot should be Gyunei.

Newtype powers aren't as exaggerated as Seed mode, except for Zeta's biosensor... But it was only used once so it's forgivable. Newtype powers did nothing except sense danger or move funnels, that's about it... (Paptimus' mind blast doesn't count)...

CE's Seed mode is exaggerated to the sense that anyone with Seed chalks up 1000 grunt kills in 5 seconds. Damn... CE needs a Yazan to kick them.
