^ I know she is fourteen... I have the same copy of CDA as you did
Shiho looks more like 14 in her manga. Why lah only two of us here posting pics... where are the others? Just started watching 08th MS team... very childish and none of the characters left a good impression. Hopefully more exciting events will unravel as the story goes on... Will do a review after finishing the entire series. Added on April 12, 2007, 9:42 amLOL!!! ![]() This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Apr 12 2007, 09:42 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

Well about the artwork of 08th MS team, I didn't really like it. It's nice alright, the colours are vibrant, but the characters are drawn in a cartoonish way... The first moment I saw Eledore I thought of the stupid purple haired dude in Pokemon... The Rocket team fella
Shiro... Dunno why but I detested him in his first appearance. Why is he acting like an impulsive brat? He could have got himself killed a couple of times... To think that he is the commander... Hopefully his naiveness is a way to portray his development later in the show. Anyway, artwork or not, it probably doesn't affect the story... Let's see what's laid ahead. Shiho... small but firm... nice... This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Apr 12 2007, 03:49 PM |

No worries... we'll be back in page one after this post
First and foremost... HAMAN-sama Secondly, finally finished 08th MS team before uni starts again tmr... bye bye Easter break. The art problem I mentioned before didn't really affect the show anyway, but I think the style was slightly different after ep 8. Aina and Ginias were drawn in a more serious manner, especially Aina. Her eyes weren't as slanted as the earlier eps, while Shiro seemed to have larger eyes. Karen's features became less butch while Eledore looked less like Team Rocket. I actually liked the improvement in artwork after ep 8. Story wise... well, I admit I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting something real big, a full fledged battle; but Apsalus was taken down so easily. Speaking of Apsalus, the design is a bit stupid... War of the Worlds alien machine? Long skinny legs supporting a gigantic structure? A shot would have brought it down easily, just like how the GM Sniper did. Big ass cannon is ultra-destructive no doubt, but we've seen that too often so nothing special there. EZ8's battle with Gouf is too well known to require any further explanation here, just say that I enjoyed it. Norris ROCKS... but then I don't really get that part. Why is Norris so hell bent on destroying the guntanks instead of the 08th team? I might have missed something in the buildup to this fight though, but I couldn't comprehend this part. About the story line, I have to say it reminded me of the time when I watched Gundam X. The entire front part was just fillers, which only elaborated few things about the buildup of conflicts. To be honest, take away those filler stories the entire story would have lasted 5, 6 episodes at most. I only enjoyed the show after episode 8, the ep where the 3 Zakus attacked Kiki's village. Character wise... I've already mentioned the art, so yeah.... Shiro developed better towards the end, and I suspect a change in writers. He suddenly seemed like a different character with a personality totally different from before. Same case with Kiki. But then Shiro never really did attract my attention as other gundam protagonists... He was reckless and impulsive, almost getting himself killed at times. Leadership-wise he wasn't that good either. Oh well. Other characters didn't really get much development though, especially Karen and Sanders which probably has some background story worth telling, even Aina and Ginias. It would be great to at least know something about both of them for example their time before coming down to Earth. Michel was irritating as ever though... Too bad it ain't Tomino stuff, otherwise we'd see Sanders kicking the bucket, probably along Karen and Eledore too. Ginias failed as a antagonist for me. He's just fanatical about his toy, like Nina in 0083... nothing more. A bad guy should have ideals that he is fighting for (either noble cause (gato, char, zechs) or maniacal agendas (carozzo, rau) )... Ginias had none, except for his infatuation with an ugly looking WMD. The final episode was a bit crap though... wasting so much time just for Michel and Kiki to find Shiro and Aina. I didn't really like that ep. I thought the apperance of the cyber enhanced kids would mean something, but no. Oh yeah, Shiro and Aina's attraction to each other seemed undeveloped too, it's just a couple of meetings and voila... they stick to each other like glue. I can't complain much about this, since Kamille and Four were attracted to each other similarly, but that's for another debate for some other time, if anyone wants to start it Overall, it was a good show, but I was a bit disappointed coz I was expecting more (or something different from this). The looney first half of the series did nothing to help though, and the superb second half was a bit rushed. Besides, there isn't enough large scale, bloody battles Between this and 0083 that I've watched during this break, I'd say I enjoyed 0083 more. Just slightly though. Shiro is desperate
Luckily they didn't pair up Eledore and Karen, which was being hinted after Karen treated Eledore when he was shot. Can't imagine if Fukuda and his team were writing this, we'd seen them together towards the end and also Miichel-Kiki Oh yeah, I didn't like the presentation of BB though... they never really explained much about Michel's true relationship with her, only the letters. Meh... things are sucky if you're not the main character. Ginias? No comment... Meh... failed psychopath. le Klueze is a better maniac. Guntanks... threat or not, even though Norris defeated the Guntanks, there were still units of the 08th MS team left which could have destroyed the Zeon ship too. So Uncle Norris, you failed too. |

QUOTE(redeye84 @ Apr 16 2007, 10:05 AM) If Fukuda were to write it the EZ-8 will be arm with shoulder cannon and waist cannon. Shiro pwn the whole Zeon army by flying in the air, multi lock and fire. IMO iam gonna assume that both of them are merely dating and when michel is send to the front lines, distant relationship taken its toll. Phychopath nothing more nothing less. le Klueze is a better villian alright but stupid Ray couldnt live up the expectation. Well the Guntank were the only unit in the area with long range capability but then again The Feds had Gm Sniper that can simply WTFPWN the Zazibar in no time. Its 1 Gouf vs 6 MS . Dont expect to much. This is not Jesus where he can aimbot everything in his path. Anyway 08th team isnt my fav but atleast its better than watching Recycle em all action + Jesus with plot armor, ammo, battery. At least at the beginning of Seed when Kira was still a noobie, he got thrashed quite a couple of times (yet still pwning everyone else in a ZAFT suit) Michel and BB... I was expecting some cameo of BB, or at least something more emotional, but Michel was too busy acting stupid and shouting like a kid to show any signs of distress and frustration. 1 Gouf vs 6MS... that's why it was a good fight, in fact, the best battle in the show. Yet as mentioned, Uncle Norris failed coz he only managed to wipe out the Guntanks but the EF still had Snipers around, not forgetting GM Head Recycle em all action + Jesus with plot armor,ammo,battery.... Plot armor exists in every Gundam show. If not for plot armor, Heero would have been chopped to pieces by Zechs in Antarctica, blown to smithereens when he self destructed Wing; Trowa would be been vaporised when his Vayete cockpit was blown open in space etc... Garrod would have died after being shot umpteenth times while piloting GX... Char would have been killed by Haman when she totally owned Hyaku Shiki... Yazan would have smacked Kamille long ago if not for Biosensor shield... Kira would have died when Aegis exploded in his face... Most important of all, Mwu would have remained as cosmic dust. So yeah, plot armor is disturbing, but it happens in all anime. Recycle'em all however cannot be forgiven when it's used 1000 times in the same show. Just for interest's sake, which is your favourite? Trying to get some ideas on which series to watch in future holidays. |

Hm... the additions of how Nina escaped sounds good, at least it will make the ending seem less hastened. All gundam series have the same problem of rushed endings, it's just a matter of whether the rushing was acceptable or not (whereas GSD's totally failed)
But Kou and Nina's relationship was a relatively nice one. I actually liked how they slowly developed it, where Nina initially considered Kou as a crap pilot who might thrash her toy to finally accepting him as a whole person. I enjoyed the awkwardness of how both of them had budding emotions for each other, yet were apprehensive of showing it in fear of embarrassment an rejection. Lucette's death was unnecessary, if not redundant. She only appeared for a few moments and her character added nothing to the plot or the development of characters. I didn't really care whether she died or not. She was just another Nina who was obsessed with her toys. Any relationship is better than Shin-Luna ( I still refuse to accept that), just-for-fun Athrun-Meyrin, or B-O-R-I-N-G Kira-Lacus. This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Apr 17 2007, 05:32 PM |

QUOTE(redeye84 @ Apr 17 2007, 06:59 PM) I must warned you that watching this alone will leave you WTFing all the way. You better have a strong grasp of the OVA before watching this. Well I don't think I'll be watching the movie after finishing the OVA, at least not now but all the effort was throw away when Gato show up. It shows she weak and unable to move on. Poor Kou.. Blame Fukuda not Shinn and Luna, He should had put some emphasive on eleborating the relationship of guilt and remorse. In short Shinn stay with Luna cause of guilt as he "killed" her sister and the comfort her. Luna stay with him for desperation for comfort since she finally realize the reality of war and she was betrayed by her "Idol". In a way i Luna and Shinn were rather close even before Athrun appear so Shinn could be her 2nd choice. as At the critical time of war she knows she cant afford to crack up. Remember War is taxing on both mind and body, How would you feel that the feeling of death lurks you everyday. Why else soldiers smokes requlary and sometimes have repeated sexs. Even if they could forget about it for a few seconds its all worth it to them. I don't mind Nina being weak in choosing Gato, but it's obvious that her relationship with Gato could have gotten more exposure so that her actions in the end makes more sense. Anyway, she returned to Earth and found Kou in the North American EF base along with Keith and Mora. Anything that happened after that is up to our imagination. I'm happy to leave it there. Shin - Luna... still makes no sense even though the most acceptable excuse is the despair of war bringing them together. But then I think you will agree too that everything in GSD is rushed. Shinn's love interest should still be Stellar (or Mayu if anyone likes that Oh well, in CE everybody MUST have a partner. Otherwise, why would the writers try to pair up Dearka and Milliaria? Oh yeah, to sell Buster Gundam Models. And I don't blame Shinn or Luna since they have no control over the development of their characters. It's the writers... THE WRITERS' FAULT !!! Meanwhile... more gundam chick pictures wanted !!! More Haman !! And where are the other gundam watching fans? Surely they would have more opinions about any series, yes... I'm still willing to bash, no, discuss about GSD... This post has been edited by StarGhazzer: Apr 17 2007, 08:51 PM |

Mouar... she wasn't really in Yazan's terror trio, but rather she was covering Jerid's butt and got killed. To think that she actually fell for Jerid
Malefied version of Mouar Oh yeah, I just got myself the mp3 of the original Gundam OP theme and I can't stop laughing at the cheesyness... TOBE GUNDAM-U !! |

1979 to be exact
I wouldn't say F91's animation is better than GSD's, after all the difference in technology is very obvious and newer animes have better looking art and more vibrant colours. But I would say the execution of the animation is better in F91. GSD and to a lesser extent GS had battles which were simply too fast for my eyes to see anything. All I saw were flashes here and there, and the battle was over. To be honest, which main battle (apart from Freedom's demise) lasted long enough for the viewers to enjoy? All were finished in a blitz... To think that they wasted so much time on nonsensical babbling, like : "KIIIIRRRRRRAAAAAAAA !!!! YAMERO........!!!!!" "AAAAAAAARRRRRRGHGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH....... NANI? ARRRRGGHHH" Whereas in F91 we have superb battles... Imagine how the Rafflesia showdown would have been if they had today's technology You get the idea... Then again, I prefer water coloured drawings in animation which most animes today lack. 0080 |

Yay.... more gundam pics !!!
About the zeta comics... I don't understand one bit... Can't read Jap About the last one, WTF is that? Haman with Sayla with Quattro's shades, Char fooling around with Magneto's helm... those two kids are probably Judau and Lina (not that similar though)... and we see some glimpses of the Argama, Hizack, ZZ, Gaza C, and the SRW-looking Psycho being drawn in another style. Hm... I'm speculating a concept art or the original sketches of ZZ Where did you get all these? http://photo.163.com/photos/led2989/#p4 Just look for CDA, but too bad I can't read Jap Haman's brain must have been fried somehow, probably by the intense trauma of Char deserting her... So she ended as the maniacal psycho in Zeta OMG.... http://photo.163.com/photos/led2989/12445547/284123692/ Why mourn over the dead, Char? You don't know what you're missing... |
