I got 4 HDs as my signature listed there, my temp at load during afternoon is around 40c for the hottest, never go beyond 40c. Normally all 3x c

wah.. maybe your casing got good air flowing?

Quite good, got 2 x 80mm fans blowing directly at the HD bays. Intake is right in front of the fan with filters, using coolermaster praetorian

HD Tune or HDD Thermometer. Also use speedfan but the other two also free. my hdd temp right now is 38C. it's the highest it goes and today is quite hot. at night it goes right down to 31C.

Mine only has 1x 80mm fan for cooling but the temperature for both WD HDD is just 35'C

i already bought ler.. hehe.. in the last few post i already said it. now in front my case i got 2 80mm fan blowing straight the HDD and i change the rear fan with a 120mm fan. the HDD now drop to 48C the highest but sometimes will drop to 42C. so 48C also consider high temp right? sorry oh macgver cannot go out with you.

Is yours a 250GB variant? My friend bought one one/two months ago and his WD has very high temperature as well.

mmm...a bit worry about your hard disk coz it writen there Made In China isn't it...

there's a known issue for WD SATA II 16Mb. Cache 250Gb (SE16) the WD2500KS model where the temperature will be around 8 to 10 degrees higher.

It was due to firmware issue where the actual temperature is 8 to 10 deg lower. I dun have the article with me but you should find some info if u google around for it.

So in short, no worries on the temperature.....WD are known for its low temp and low noise....the SE16 series are the best HDDs I have used.

Been using the WD2500KS (250Gb) and WD3200KS (320Gb) with full satisfaction.

Can any raptor owners here post their temps please?

1 terabyte one will be coming soon in the end of the year according to CNet.com.

My raptor is currently at 33c, it's not really hot compare to normal 7200rpm HD.

wow..faster and cooler. thats really a good HD.
My WD 250GB 7200RPM runs at 30c and up to 35c on hot days

Your temperature is perfectly good, our room temperature is around 30c anyway. So it's still very good temperature
