QUOTE(cHrIstInA_YY @ Aug 29 2006, 02:09 PM) my maxtor 40 gb hdd spoilt after 1 year + sobsob >.<" i bought it during end of Sept back in 2004. According to the PC shop which sold me this HDD... maxtor only start to provide 3 years warranty @ the begin of Oct. 2004 Zzzz.... now it's spoilt... 2 weeks ago, i bought another seagate HDD from the same PC shop to replace my old one, dis time they promise that it's providing 3 years warranty... btw, wat's the different between SATA III & normal SATA? the technician told me this SATA III is running as SATA with my motherboard with no different... is it correct ? i think u can try RMA la.. or it will be waste.. coz ur hdd only use 1+year.. now maybe Maxtor hdd can be RMA in Seagate company at P.J. oh ya.. now seagate 3.5" hdd is 5 years warranty.. not 3 years... can straight way claim RMA at seagate company at P.J oso if got prob.. its 5 years horrr GudLuck4 ur new hdd.. im using seagate too its reliable. QUOTE(radmaszeal @ Sep 9 2006, 07:00 PM) what are the temps on the hitachi hdd? wanna get 1 from bulk soon. buy from bulk dont forget to ask warranty.. but actually personal warranty r not so useful so its better u go check on-line with the hdd manufacture for the waranty validation immidiately after u buy hdd from bulk. in case got prob u still can go RMA. but i noe tht some bulk dont have manufacture warranty one cos they took OEM hdd to sell.. so its a bit risky.

QUOTE(mzms @ Sep 19 2006, 09:04 AM) but one thing good i have to say about maxtor is their maxblast4 software so damn easy to use. i just download it and then copy from my old boot drive (seagate) to the new 160 maxtor and do everything with just a few clicks (partition to 80GB each and then format and copy about 20GB of data) and then I just reboot and finish, my new maxtor has same stuff as old seagate and is now my boot drive. very easy to use. QUOTE Dreamworks Sep 19 2006, 02:35 PM WD also offer such programs but I still prefer Ghost where to download this hardwares?? pls
